Applied Sciences and Technology
Welcome to the Applied Sciences and Recreation Division.  We are proud of our unique programs and outstanding facilities. All of our programs offer both Associate and Bachelor degree programs.

 Veterinary Science Technology Program

Our Veterinary Science Technology program, established in 1961, was the first of its type in the United States. Since its inception, it has developed into a dynamic, nationally recognized program. This program is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).  This program offers Associate degree, Bachelor degree and a Distant Learning Bachelor degree.  Outstanding facilities include Farnsworth Hall Laboratories, surgical suite, kennel, primate colony and anatomy labs.  The program has an expansive large animal complex that houses equine, bovine, sheep and goats.

Golf Course Management & Plant Science Programs

We are proud of the outstanding facilities that support the Golf Course Management, Turf Management and Landscape Contracting programs. The golf course has a clubhouse that houses a full-service restaurant and pro shop, a 30-station practice range, and a chipping/putting practice green. The Turf Education Center, dedicated in 1994 with industry support, houses state-of-the-art equipment, a demonstration laboratory, a classroom, and horticultural laboratories. Farnsworth Hall houses a landscape design studio, soils lab, a greenhouses.  A 35,000-square-foot air structure gives Professional Golf Management students year-round opportunity for golf practice, education, and coaching.

Natural Resource Recreation and Sports Program

Students of the Natural Resource Recreation and Sports program gain a tremendous amount of practical experience using the colleges recreational facilities. The Clark Field House, which opened in the spring of 2004, houses the Floyd L. Maines Arena, the College's gymnasium, and the CADI Fitness Center. Adjacent to the Clark Field House is a mini-dome air structure that houses tennis and basketball courts, an indoor track, Kunsela Hall is home to the College's indoor pool and two racquetball courts. Also located on the main campus are outdoor tennis and basketball courts, various athletic fields and a fifty acre Outdoor Education Park.
