The goal of this club is to assist SUNY Delhi Students in exploring all the aspects of careers in the Architecture and Design Fields; while developing their leadership and teamwork skills. To that aim, the focus of the community service projects undertaken are real world based design and build projects for local and regional non-profit community groups.
Letter from the Architecture Club President:
Since Fall ‘09, the Architecture Club has been restructured and revitalized, bringing new life to our campus and community. One of the first changes was electing new club officers in February of the spring semester, shifting focus and responsibility to the 2nd and 3rd year students, at the busiest time for the senior class. This allows the club to stay active on and off campus through the spring, while the seniors focus on their final projects, portfolios, and graduation.
The new Architecture Club officers for Spring 2011 through Fall 2011 are:

The Architecture Club meets every Monday at 6PM in the Farnsworth Hall Architecture Studio. All are welcome! The Architecture Club provides a forum where students of all years explore aspects of the Architecture and the Design profession that exist beyond the scope of the formal Architectural Technology curriculum. During our meetings, we’ve discussed and reviewed new architecture projects worldwide as well as places visited on breaks (such as Australia and Taiwan). The interaction between the Arch AA & Arch BT students benefits everyone and encourages students at each level of experience to share information about projects and classes through group discussions. The interaction between the under and upper classmen is one of the highlights of the club activities.
The Architecture Club plans a trip to a major northeast city every year, usually in the Fall. We tour the buildings every architecture student should know, see, and walk through before graduation. In Fall 2008 and Spring of 2010, the club visited New York City. Followed by Boston in Fall of 2010. The Architecture Club is now planning a trip for the Fall of 2011 to either Montreal or Philadelphia.
The Architecture Club is committed to community service that also furthers the students involvement in the Architecture & Design profession. For Example, in ’09- ’10 members designed a Kiosk for the Catskill Conservation and Development Center and the ‘Friends of the Catskills’. Grant Egelston's design was chosen to be built and Aaron Wanser's design was also considered. This year’s main community service project is a Cub Scout Recycling Depository. Another project that is underway is a design for a ‘green technologies’ classroom in an existing barn for the Catskill Conservation and Development Center.
Looking forward to sharing more of our projects with all of you,
Stephen Warren
