Automotive Technology
Associate Degree's

Do you like fixing cars? The auto industry offers employment in repair and maintenance shops, as well as the opportunity to open your own business. Car maintenance requires not only mechanical repairs but also extensive trouble-shooting skills using computerized shop and electronic diagnostic equipment. Our state-of-the-art auto lab provides you with many hours of hands-on training under the guidance of knowledgeable and experienced ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified faculty.

Diagnostic Technology - Automotive AssociatesThe Automotive Technology program at Delhi is a fully accredited, collegiate level program with NATEF and ASE Certification. Course credits earned in this Associate degree program are fully transferable should the graduate decide to pursue a bachelor's degree in this field.

The Program offers two Associate degree options and a One-Year Certificate to the entering student. The Associate degree options are the Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) and the Associate degree in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) The technical course requirements are nearly the same for either degree (AOS students participate in an additional six hours of lab each semester) so that a graduate's employability is the same regardless of the degree option. The difference between the two options is in the number of Liberal Arts courses that are required. The A.A.S. degree has a greater Liberal Arts/Science component, which makes it a good choice for those who plan to continue their education after Delhi. On the other hand, it will be more rigorous and more difficult for those students who do not have a good math and science background. Students who begin in the A.A.S. option can be switched to the A.O.S. option after the first semester. The Requirements page lists the four semester course sequences for both the A.A.S. and the A.O.S. degrees, and the Certificate.
