See yourself managing a golf course? This practical education includes applying what is learned in the classroom to managing our 18-hole college golf course. Day-to-day operations include managing turfgrasses, irrigation, pest management and equipment maintenance. Students work at paid summer internships around the country. Graduates work at the country’s most prestigious golf courses, with a 100% placement rate.
The Golf Course Operations program emphasizes the management of golf course facilities. This program affords you an opportunity for extensive hands-on experience. You will be required, with the assistance of your faculty advisor, to enroll as a summer intern at a golf course. You can also gain extensive experience on the college’s 18-hole golf course.
Knowledge of the game of golf is a graduation requirement of the Golf Course Operations program. You can satisfy this requirement by taking PEDH 135, Fundamentals of Golf, while enrolled in the program; by demonstrating previous experience, such as participation on a high school golf team; or by qualifying for the SUNY Delhi golf team.
The Golf Course Operations program is designed for seamless transfer into Delhi's Golf Course Management B.B.A. program.
