Do you love the outdoors? Like working with people? Then park and recreation is for you. This program combines content with hands-on learning, so that our graduates are ideally positioned to work as camp counselors, expedition leaders, licensed guides, interpreters and outdoor educators. You will also find our graduates going green, working for environmental organizations and in natural resource management.
Designed to meet a variety of educational goals, this program prepares you for many different positions because of its flexible design. Through chosen electives, you can focus your studies on work environments such as state, local, and national park systems; municipal recreation; quasi-public recreation; or commercial recreation. Regardless of the direction, after graduating, you can get a job in the field or you can continue with your education.
Small class sizes allow for more individual contact between instructors and students. This one-on-one, hands-on atmosphere is the cornerstone of the program.
While earning your degree, you will complete the educational requirements to become certified as a Recreational Associate with the National Recreation and Park Association.
