The Recreation and Sports Management program is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in sports, recreation, and physical education outside of teaching. In close consultation with your advisor, you will be offered the opportunity to tailor your program of study to suit your career aspirations. Whether this aspiration is coaching, working in the front office of a professional team, or in facility management, the Recreation and Sports Management program will allow you the flexibility to engage in a broad range of coursework related to each of these endeavors.
When you successfully complete this program and receive an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, you will also fulfill the academic requirements necessary to obtain a New York State Coaching Certificate.
At the same time, you will also complete the educational requirements to become certified as a Recreational Associate with the National Recreation and Park Association.
