ALHT 100 INTRODUCTION TO HEALTH CARE

This course contains conceptual knowledge germane to students interested in health care. The course focuses on introduction to growth and development, ethical and legal issues using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Concepts of health care for the client, families, and community will be incorporated in the course. Other theorists and fundamental concepts related to health care throughout the life cycle incorporating the wellness/illness continuum will also be addressed. How culture and ethnic diversity affect health care will be introduced. Health care promotion concepts universal to health care will be discussed.
