Automotive Technology:
Technical Standards for Admission, Progression, and Graduation

The following technical standards describe the non-academic qualifications required for entrance to, continuation in, and graduation with an Automotive Mechanics certificate or an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree in Automotive Technology from SUNY College of Technology at Delhi. Candidates must be able to meet these minimum standards, with or without reasonable accommodation, for successful completion of certificate/degree requirements.

Thinking skills

General: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and computer-related automotive failures.

Specific:

Sensory/Observation Skills

General Requirements:  Valid driver’s license

General: Use sensory cues to inspect and test components to determine root causes of failures and respond properly.

General: Possess sufficient physical strength, flexibility, and dexterity.
