*MATH 102 Mathematics for Applied Technology is the minimum exit-level requirement for this program.

Admissions Requirements

High school graduate with a minimum of a 73% overall average or a minimum 2500 GED test score.  Training or equivalent of the CAD Mechanical certificate.  A 70% or higher on the Math A/Algebra regents exam is recommended.

 

In addition to academic requirements, all applicants must also be able to meet the minimum Technical Standards for the program with or without reasonable accomodation.

 

Program Objectives First Semester 

A graduate of the CAD Electronic certificate program should be able to:

  1. Resource and use both electronic and printed manufacturing manuals.
  2. Specify commonly used materials in making various types of parts based on a knowledge of cast, forged, stamped, machined, extruded, and other manufacturing processing methods.
  3. Demonstrate a working knowledge of electricity and electronics.
  4. Detail complete sets of working drawings as they relate to the electro-mechanical field and design simple electronic packages given a schematic and electrical parts list.
  5. Detail complete sets of working drawings as they relate to the electronics industry.
  6. Design single- and double-sided printed circuit boards given a schematic or logic diagram.
  7. Design products using parametric solid modeling software.
