Associate in Applied Science: Horticulture

Degree Requirements Total = 64-66 hours

The Horticulture program at SUNY Delhi offers students a broad overview of the horticultural field. It is appropriate for students who are unsure which career direction to pursue in horticulture, or for those who desire to become  generalists in the profession.

The curriculum is normally completed in 4 semesters and includes a wide array of classes, each offering practical hands-on training. Courses cover diverse aspects of horticulture such as LANDSCAPING, GREENHOUSE OPERATION,  WOODY PLANTS, DRAWING/DESIGN,  PERENNIAL GARDENING, and more.  In addition, students have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge in a desired area by working closely with a faculty or staff member who shares that interest.

The Horticulture Program is an excellent choice for individuals who plan to start a retail nursery or greenhouse operation, become professional gardeners or estate caretakers, pursue an advanced degree, or for those individuals who  simply have a personal interest in the study.

Admissions Requirements:

Applicants must posses a high school diploma and have completed one year of high school Math (Course A or Sequential) and one year of Biology (Regents level preferred.)
