“Eric Newell wins Long Island Golf Course Superintendents Association Scholarship" November 2006

Eric Newell a freshman from Melville, New York enrolled in our Golf Course Management program received the endowed Long Island Golf Course Superintendents Association Scholarship.  Pictured Rick Holfoth (’83) congratulates Eric at the scholarship presentations at the Green Industry Show in Rochester, New York.

"SUNY-Delhi students Win Turf Bowl Competition at the Green Industry Conference & Trade Show." November 2006

SUNY-Delhi team members (from left), Jarrett Pilkington, Jeff Gessner, Chris Ellsmore, and Aaron Crouse won the Annual Turf Bowl Competition held at the Green Industry Conference & Trade Show held in Rochester, New York.

The students compete against other Colleges within New York State.  The competition includes turfgrass and weed identification, plant disease and insect identification, and various turf and landscape problem solving exercises.

SUNY DELHI NAMES BLUM 2006 ALUMNUS OF MERIT

SUNY Delhi alumnus Patrick Blum was honored for his contributions to his alma mater with the college’s Alumnus of Merit Award at the New York State Turfgrass Association’s Turf and Grounds Exposition in Rochester on November 15, 2006.

A 1989 graduate of SUNY Delhi’s horticulture program, Blum was named the 2006 Alumnus of Merit by the SUNY Delhi Alumni Association. This award recognizes outstanding alumni for success in their chosen career field and who are considered to be a rising star among their peers.
