Michael Petrillose

Michael J. Petrillose - Ph.D., is the Dean of Business and Hospitality. A 1977 A.A.S. graduate of SUNY Delhi, Dr. Petrillose went on to receive his B.S. degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. After a career in the hospitality industry that includes being an assistant general manager with S & A Restaurant Corporation, a general manager with Winegardner & Hammons, Inc., and a regional supervisor with Prime Motor Inns, he returned to earn his M.P.S. degree from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 1990. Upon completion of his Master’s degree, Michael accepted a concurrent position as an instructor in the hospitality management department at Kansas State University and a Ph.D. student. Upon completion of his Ph.D. at Kansas State University, Michael joined the faculty at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. In 1998, Michael returned to the hospitality industry as a consultant and ultimately as President of Neighborhood Inns of Chicago, a “boutique hotel” concept and Regional Vice President with Regis Hotel Corporation. Michael’s desire to teach tomorrow’s future hospitality industry leaders prompted his return to teaching and SUNY Delhi in August 2002.  Dr. Petrillose is a 2005 recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Research Recognition Award for his award-winning research focused on improving customer and employee relations and the application of technology within the hospitality industry. Dean Petrillose can be reached at petrilmj@delhi.edu.
