Both of the following are paid internships that include housing and feature hands-on experience in equipment operation, golf course maintenance, course set-up, tournament preparation, crew leadership, irrigation management, course renovation and more!
Congressional Golf Club, located in Bethesda, MD, is a 36-hole facility featuring the Blue and Gold courses. The Blue Course, originally designed by Devereux Emmet (who also designed Cooperstown’s Leatherstocking) will play host the 2011 U.S. Open. The Club also plays host to the PGA Tour’s AT&T Championship, hosted by Tiger Woods. The Club has most recently undergone renovations under the guidance of famous designer Rees Jones, also known as the “Open Doctor”, for his renovations of course prior to hosting the U.S. Open. The National Golf Links of America better known as “National” is a private and exclusive golf club located in Southampton, NY which was considered “America’s first great golf course.” The National hosted the very first Walker Cup in 1922 and is scheduled to host the 2013 Walker Cup.
