ContentHonors ProgramSUNY Delhi's Presidential Scholars Program recognizes the achievement of local students and assists them in pursuit of their college education. This honors program ensures that a limited number of students from Delaware and Otsego Counties with strong academic credentials may attend the College tuition free.* The College solicits nominations for the Presidential Scholars Program from high school superintendents within Otsego and Delaware Counties. These nominations are based on the criteria set for the program. Eligible students must rank in the top 25 percent of their graduating class, earn a Regents Diploma with a minimum average of 90 percent, and are required to submit a 350- to 500-word essay highlighting their extracurricular achievements. The Presidential Scholars Program is designed for students who seek a greater academic challenge given their ability and personal motivation. Qualified students are challenged through specially designed honors courses in the humanities and social sciences. These courses offer an enriched learning environment of seminar-style courses that emphasize critical thinking and independent research. This scholarship is good for two years provided students maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.3. *(Scholarships are awarded for that portion of tuition not covered by other forms of financial aid.) |
