Some Quotes From Our Students

"...the online program allowed me to be very flexible.  I was able to complete a Statistics course in 7 weeks while also working 2 jobs (3 if you count mother and housewife). The site was easy to navigate even if you do not have any formal computer training. Most people cringe when you mention Statistics to them, but this course was not about memorizing a lot of mathematical formulas. It helped me to understand the terms used in research articles and how to apply them....I was pleased that the course was actually geared toward "nursing"..... "

"As a nurse who is employed full time I found the SUNY Delhi RN to BSN program to best fit my needs. I have been impressed with the quality of the classes, and the excellence of the faculty. The course work is challenging and well organized. The two classes I’ve taken have already benefited me in my career. I feel more confident and competent in my professional knowledge."

“…the BSN program is everything that a working RN could ever want in a continuing education program. It's convenient and the instructors are excellent in making students comfortable with on line learning.”

Is On-Line Learning For You?

Successful on-line learners are actively interacting with other students and with faculty. On-line learning material will be presented in a variety of ways including video, links to outside learning environment websites, case studies, and discussions to name a few. What are the differences between on-line and face-to-face learning environments? On-line is technology dependent and accessible anytime and anywhere which makes it convenient for the learner, using the positive resources of technology to bring learning content and experiences to learners.  Face-to-face learning is scheduled classes offered at set times in specific places; the student must be available when and where the course is offered.

Successful on-line students have common characteristics such as:

  • Highly motivated, independent, and active learners.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Disciplined to study without external reminders.
  • Adaptable to new learning environments.
  • Willingness to ask for help.
  • Comfort with technology.
