The Delhi Nursing Program

Welcome to SUNY Delhi School of Nursing. This is an exciting and interesting time to be in nursing. The critical shortage of both practitioners and educators is leading to multiple options for those interested in the profession.  Jobs are available nationwide in a wide range of settings, typically at excellent salaries, with opportunities for growth. At SUNY Delhi, we are preparing students who will become leaders in the profession, contributing to the advancement of health care and the profession itself.

SUNY Delhi prepares nurses at a variety of levels. We offer a 1 + 1 program that allows students to complete one year of full-time study and then are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN licensure exam. If the student completes an additional year of full-time study, the student will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensing exam and graduate with an Associate Degree in Nursing. You may attend either on a full-time or part-time basis. We have also launched in January 2008 an on-line program for registered nurses prepared at the Associate degree level to obtain their BSN. (Read the BSN Press Release.) Our students receive excellent clinical preparation with a variety of agencies throughout the tri-county area.

SUNY Delhi is recognized as a nursing education leader and has a long history of providing nursing education to serve local and state-wide healthcare needs. In Nursing Class1968 SUNY Delhi implemented a practical nursing program funded by the federal Manpower Act.  Educational opportunities for LPNs in the area to complete an RN were limited due to inaccessibility of programs.  The New York State Education Department and SUNY approved the establishment of an Associate Degree in Nursing at Delhi in 1983 and the RN to BSN program in 2007.  State registration status has been continuous since that time; NLNAC accreditation was granted in 1998.

Delhi College's Nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. NLNAC is located: 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006; Phone: 1-800-669-1656
