Melody Carson-Antoon, RN, BSN, MSN
Ms. Carson-Antoon has been a nurse since 1988. She began teaching nursing in 1993 while in graduate school, and found a passion that she has continued to pursue. She has had the privilege of teaching in face to face settings as well as online and hybrid. She has taught in the online setting since 2001. She holds a BS in Environmental Health from Louisiana State University, a BSN from the University of Southern Mississippi, and earned her MSN in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University.
Ms. Carson-Antoon's areas of interest include the use of technology and simulation in the online setting, pathophysiology, health assessment, jurisprudence, critical care and psychiatric mental health nursing. She has developed modules for the implementation of psychiatric-mental health nursing in the Simulation Environment.
Ms. Carson-Antoon has served as a subject matter expert and has developed online courses for nursing. She has served on the Distance Education committee and has presented professionally on ways to incorporate creativity in the online setting.
Her recognitions include Teacher of the Year (2000) at Louisiana State Univerisity; appointed online course developer and nursing faculty online mentor (2012) at Lamar University; and received the Presidential Award for presenting on utilizing creativity in the online setting at Lamar University.
