Professor Deane joined SUNY Delhi's RN to BSN program in 2010. She brings over 15 years of experience teaching courses online and onground. Some of the courses she has taught include  community nursing, health assessment, healthcare policy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, theoretical foundations of nursing, and leadership/management. Her research interests are in course assessment and strategic planning.

Professor Deane earned her MSN in Nursing Education from the University of Hartford, her BSN from St. Joseph's College, and her Nursing Diploma from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She is also a Certified Nurse Educator.

Professor Deane is a current Member of the Program Committee for CT League of Nursing ; 2009-2012 Member of the Board of Directors for CT League of Nursing; and current Secretary for the Board of Directors for the CT League of Nursing. She is a 2008 State of Connecticut Nurse of the Year Finalist, the 2009 State of Connecticut Nurse Educator of the Year, the recipient of the 2011 CT League for Nursing President’s Award, as well as the 2011 NLN Outstanding Leadership Award for a Constituent League.
