Susan Sonnier, MS, RN
Mrs. Sonnier has been teaching courses in Delhi's RN to BSN program since 2008. She is the Manager of Clinical Solutions for a nationwide company that places patient education and interactive systems within hospitals to enhance the patent experience. She is also a diabetes educator and advocate for diabetes populations. She has contributed to two texts as a chapter author. She earned her MS in Nursing Education from Walden University, her BSN from the University of Texas, and her ADN from San Jacinto College.
Mrs. Sonnier's research interests include the use of interactive patient education systems in hospitals to improve the patient experience and reduce readmissions in given diagnoses; Interdisciplinary and individualized patient education using interactive technology at the bedside; Online RN student collegiality and its influence on program sustenance and completion.
Her clinical interests include hardwiring use of interactive technologies to improve patient education, helping nurses meet the individualized education needs of patients, and extending patient health education to home deliveries to reduce readmissions and promote successful outcomes.
Mrs. Sonnier is a professional member and advocate of the American Diabetes Associationand a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She also serves as an Advisory Council Member with the San Jacinto College LVN-RN Mobility Program. She was the 2008 Nurse of the Year at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, TX.
