Budget and Planning Committee Report   

  •   Items that are to be funded are based on priority
  •       Looked for common themes in unit plan budget     
  •       Staffing requests—many were put on hold as a result of state budget cuts
  •       President Vancko could not attend today’s meeting but did state that she did not have any additional information on the budget (update provided by Presider)

    

  •        Retention Advisory Committee is no longer a functioning committee and as a result B&P needed to adjust some of their outcomes   

Curriculum Committee

  •     Discussion on the order of the proposals; proposals for programs discussed before the courses included have been approved; difficult to determine the merits of the program without

The proposal to teach ECMT 180 Alternative and Renewable Energy in online format was approved leaving the format as lecture and adding distance learning

The proposal to change the course requirements for Park & Outdoor Recreation Program Concentration eliminating BIOL 105 Wildlife of North America, two concentration electives and a PEDH elective and adding as required PRKM 280 Service Learning in Parks & Recreation, PEDH 220 Responding to Emergencies or PEDC 220 Wilderness First Responder and An Adventure Recreation Elective thereby reducing the overall credits from 68 to 63 - 65 was approved.

The proposal to change the course requirements for Adventure Recreation Program Concentration eliminating PEDH 164 Lifeguard Training or PEDH Health & Wellness, PEDH 220 Responding to Emergencies, LARC 120 Landscape Graphics, one concentration elective and a PEDH elective and adding as required PEDC 220 Wilderness First Responder , PRKM 285 and 286 Adventure Recreation Senior Experience I & II and PRKM 251Rock Climbing or PRKM 252 Winter Camping thereby reducing the overall credits from 68 to 64 - 65 was approved.

The proposal to change the course requirements for Recreation & Sports Management Program Concentration eliminating Computer Elective, Adventure Recreation Elective, Math Elective, LARC 120 Landscape Graphics, one concentration elective and a PEDH elective and adding as required CITA 110 Microcomputer Applications, MATH 115 Statistics, and PEDH 265 Sports Management Operations thereby reducing the overall credits from 67 to 65 was approved.
