Meeting called to order by Presider Lynn Domina

Quorum established at 4:18 p.m.

The minutes from the February 13, 2006 meeting were approved.

Student Opinion Survey

• Jackie Andrews spoke about the Student Opinion Survey that is administered every three years, and will be given during the week of April 17th this year.  Copies of the survey were available to look at.  She also handed out a list of classes where the survey would be administered by proctors.  It takes about 30 to 40 minutes for students to complete.  Completed surveys will be sent to ACT for scanning, and the data should be back to us in June.  

Curriculum Committee

• The BBA in Business and Technology Management at Schenectady Inter-Institutional program was approved by Curriculum Committee and passed along to the Senate as a point of information. 
• The proposal to change the wording of the admission requirements for the BBA program in Veterinary Technology Management was approved by Curriculum Committee.   Admission to program will require that individual is licensed or license-eligible.  A motion was made and seconded to accept this proposal.  Motion passed.

Elections

• Senate terms expire at the end of May.  Everyone is encouraged to run again.  Discussion on how to handle balloting.  In the past Human Resources has collected and tallied paper ballots.  Discussion on accessing the ballot through a link on the Senate webpage and having ballots emailed to Human Resources. 
• Marsha Stock will check with Jackie Andrews about the possibility of using Survey Monkey for balloting.    Voting will take place before the end of the semester with the new Senate meeting in June when the election of officers will take place.  Lynn Domina said that she will not be running for re-election as Presider of the Senate.   New presider must be a faculty member. 

College Calendar

• The proposed college calendar for the 2007-2008 academic year was discussed.  Fall semester 2007 will start and end a week later than our current calendar.  Lynn will email the proposed calendar and the rationale for the change.  If you have any concerns or comments, please let Lynn know.
