Meeting called to order by Presider, Julee Miller at 4:15 pm

President’s Report

 Continue to work on smart growth

 SUNY—considering rationale tuition plan

o Currently has Senate and Assembly sponsorship

o Legislative agreement to better support goals of SUNY

 Renovation of Sanford Hall to begin in summer of 2012

o Offering a professional development workshop to see the plans

 SUNY college Presidents have a consensus on making recommendations about mid-year cuts; have been forwarded to SUNY

o Ongoing discussion regarding state SUNY hospitals and their shortfalls

Curriculum Committee

Motion: J. Morgan Seconded: A. Thompson Approved	CC10-49	March 8	Liberal Arts & Sciences	The proposal to change the name of ALHT 100 Introduction to Health Care to NURS 101 Introduction to Nursing and Mental Health and change the degree requirements to reflect this change was approved. The ALHT 100 will be deactivated.
Motion: S. Swayze Seconded: T. Hamblin Approved	CC10-51	April 5	Liberal Arts & Science	The proposal to offer a new course LITR 218 Native American Literature on campus and in online format, schedule type lecture and distance learning, fills general education #7 was approved
Motion: S. Babcock Seconded: A. Thompson Approved >	CC10-52	April 5	Technology	The proposal to change the course requirements for the AAS In Carpentry adding TECH 115 OSHA 30 and removing CARP 101 Construction Safety and PEDH 220 First Aid with no change in total credits was approved.

	CC10-53A	April 5	Technology	The proposal to change the course requirements for the certificate In Masonry adding TECH 115 OSHA 30 and removing CARP 101 Construction Safety and PEDH 220 First Aid with no change in total credits was approved.
	CC10-53B	April 5	Technology	The proposal to change the course requirements for the certificate In Carpentry adding TECH 115 OSHA 30 and removing CARP 101 Construction Safety and PEDH 220 First Aid with no change in total credits was approved.

MacLeod Approved	CC10-54	April 5	Business & Hospitality	The proposal to change the course requirements for the BBA In Business and Technology Management to conform to the new general education program at Delhi, Schenectady, TC3 and Onondaga and reduce the total credits of the degree by 3 to 122 was approved
Motion: J. Morgan Second: K. MacLeod Approved	CC10-55	April 5	Business & Hospitality	The proposal to change the course requirements for the BBA In Technology Management to conform to the new general education program and reduce the total credits of the degree by 3 to 122 was approved.
Motion: J. Backus-Foster Seconded: M. Wake Approved	CC10-56	April 5	Business & Hospitality	The proposal to change the course requirements for the BBA In Information Systems Auditing to conform to the new general education program and reduce the total credits of the degree by 3 to 122 was approved.
Motion: J. Backus-Foster Seconded: J. Burgess Approved	CC10-13	December 7	Business & Hospitality	Adjust the four year Auditing program to match the new Gen Ed requirements.

Motion to approve the minutes for the March 28, 2011 meeting—motion: M. Wake; seconded: K. MacLeod; approved

Calendar

• Discussion on the calendar options; Presider will collate outcome and send recommendation

Centennial Celebration

• Will go from Orientation 2012 to Fall 2013

• Asking for volunteers

• Website for Centennial

• Question regarding a display on campus

Fredonia Plenary

• Report is available online

• Chancellor used the phrase “systemness” meaning integrating the system together; one big system that is not broken up

o May not be helpful to SUNY Delhi—lumped together and may lose our uniqueness

o Differential tuition can cause difficulties with accessibility

o Buffalo 20/20 – separate itself from SUNY in regard to tuition

Old Business

• Bylaws change—motion to approve, T. Hamblin; seconded, J. Burgess.

Section 2. General Duties and Responsibilities of Committees

A. Committees will deliberate upon and frame specific recommendations upon issues assigned by the executive Committee and/or perform other duties specific to their mission.

B. All committee reports will be presented to the executive committee in a timely manner. Only the general status will be given for those reports containing confidential material.

Section 3. General Duties and Responsibilities of committee Chairs

A. Committee chairs are responsible for leading their committees, conducting committee meetings, ensuring that their committees are fully staffed and functioning effectively, and for reporting interim and final findings to the Senate." Frequency and time of reporting out to the Senate shall be determined jointly by committee chairs and the Senate Executive committee and agreed upon prior to the first Senate meeting of the academic year.

B. Committee chairs will attend the Senate meetings to answer questions pertaining to committee business when such business comes before the Senate.

• Postponed until further notice. Campus-wide discussion pertaining to service of MC staff
