Meeting called to order by Presider, Julee Miller at 4:18 pm
Quorum established at 4:16 p.m.

The minutes from November 8, 2010 meeting (correct spelling on Presider in attendance list)—motion to approve: K. MacLeod; seconded: M. DeFreece; approved
President’s Report
- PGA Accreditation—requested a review as the college met or exceeded the requirements but did not get accreditation
- Dedications
- Molloy Dance Studio
- Wickham Information Commons
- Carol Brock Reading Room in the Resnick Library
- Budget—no new news; Budget & Planning Committee working hard
- Middle States—progressed to the writing stage
- 100th Anniversary Celebration
- renovation concepts are in the planning stages
- Nominations for the Chancellor’s Awards have been received
- Commencement December 17th at 1 pm
- Holiday Social – December 17th at 7 pm
- M. Wake—what is the intent for the renovation of Thurston? C. Vancko—UP in the lower lever--office space, interview rooms, storage; main and upper floors a boutique style hotel (preliminary discussion)
- Renovations in Sanford, Kunsela, and Farnsworth; demo of South and North Halls
- Smoking on campus—Alcohol and Other Drugs Task Force working on designated smoking areas hopefully for fall
- Day care center ground breaking in the spring of 2011; open summer 2012
Common Hour
- Resolution to establish a campus-wide Common Hour presented; please place a copy for viewing in your functional area; motion to accept: S. Babcock; seconded: J. Tessier; approved
Bylaws Waiver
- Discussion on the need to adjust bylaws in regard to membership regarding decision making level staff joining Senate; clarity for Human Resources as to the titles that may fall into this loophole.
- S. Babcock: need to create bylaws that are not specific to title
- J. Tessier: better served by a change in the language and a such as list
Elections
- Two professional staff and five faculty on the ballot
- Motion to commence with elections: T. Hamblin, seconded: J. Tessier; abstention by M. Wake (proxy given to Presider); approved.
General Education Discussion
- Need for an FAQ page; T. Hamblin will work on
- Confluence—add any comments to the Senate page or send them to the Presider
