ContentAdvanced PlacementDelhi College does accept AP course credits which can be used to meet the liberal arts, science and mathematics requirements of a degree. In addition, programs such as Architectural Technology have their own advanced placement program for technical coursework. It is described below. Advanced Placement Credit for some of the technical courses can be earned by high school students while in high school. We refer to this program as our Articulation Program. It is a great way to get a head start on your college course requirements. High School students in Technology courses or in BOCES, who have mastered certain Architecture/Construction Technology competencies, can earn credits for any or all of the following courses:
Credits are awarded based upon an articulation agreement which must be signed by the high school and Delhi College. A list of performance competencies for each course must be mastered by the student, while working with the high school Architecture/ Construction Technology instructor. The high school instructor certifies that a particular student has met the competencies. There is no charge or fee for college credits earned through this program. The program allows students to avoid taking repetitive courses, or to take additional courses. Credits earned through this program can only be used for courses in the Architecture/ Construction Technology program at Delhi. These credits are posted to the student's college transcript after the first semester, and when the student's GPA is above 2.00(C average) Prospective students who want to work towards these credits should ask their Technology Teacher, BOCES Teacher or Guidance Counselor if their school has an Articulation Agreement with Delhi College for the Architecture/Construction Technology courses. If the school has an agreement, the student can begin work at any time on the performance competencies for individual courses. If the school does not have an agreement in place, it can easily be accomplished by obtaining the Articulation Form, having it signed by the appropriate individuals, and then sending it to the Delhi College address listed on the form. The College will then return the performance competency lists for each course. (Articulation forms can be obtained by calling Mr. Lou Shields, Career Services, at Delhi College: 607 746 4648) For more information, call Delhi's Architecture faculty at: 607 746 4082; or, 607 746 4081, or arrange for a visit at one of the College's Open House days by calling 1 800 96 DELHI |
