How to Apply

Two career paths are available through the Architectectural Design and Building, Bachelor of Technology Degree. The primary degree is a pre-professional, Architectural Degree that is designed to be a first step towards a career as a professional architect. A second path is the Construction Management Option that is designed to prepare graduates for a career in construction management.

Both options are discussed below:

B.T. Degree in Architectural Design and Building

This degree is available to graduates and transfers from Associate Degree programs in Architectural Technology. The primary feeder program to the B.T. Degree is the A.A.S. Degree in Architectural Technology, also at SUNY Delhi.

Transfers and graduates from other schools will have their transcripts compared with SUNY Delhi's AAS Architectural Technology requirements, and will have to complete lower level pre-requisites that are lacking, before being admitted to the B.T. program.

Admission to the Architectural Design and Building, B.T. will be based on the following:
Completion of 48 credits of lower division college coursework in an Architecture Technology or related Associate Degree program.

  • An applicant's GPA from lower division college coursework.  The minimum GPA for admission will be 2.3.
  • An applicant's portfolio (see below)
  • An applicant's coursework equivalency to the SUNY Delhi AAS Degree in Architectural Technology including: College Algebra, College Trigonometry, General Physics, Statics and Strengths of Materials, Autocad, and Architectural Studio.

Transfer applicants need to have their previous coursework evaluated by the SUNY Delhi Enrollment Office to determine whether they are AAS or BT applicants, and to determine which semester would be the most appropriate to begin at SUNY Delhi.
Once admitted, transfer students will have their transcript evaulated by the Dean of the Technology Division, in consultation with the faculty, in order to develop a plan of action regarding the remaining BT degree course requirements.
