Lincoln’s Birthday, Saturday, February 12, 2011

Lincoln’s birthday has been designated as a floating holiday for employees in the CSEA, PEF, UUP and M/C units.  Eligible employees who are entitled to observe holidays, and for whom Saturday February 12th, is a regular day off, will accrue floating holiday time.  It is a fixed holiday for employees represented by ALES.

Classes are in session.  Classified staffing should be minimal and will require prior approval from of supervisor. 

Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2011

Classes will not be in session.  Only essential services will be maintained.  

Independence Day, Monday, July 4, 2011

Classes will not be in session.  Only essential services will be maintained.

Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2011

Classes are in session.  Classified staffing should be minimal and will require prior approval from of supervisor.  

Columbus Day, Monday, October 10, 2011

Classes will not be in session due to fall break (October 10 & 11).  Only essential services will be maintained. 

Election Day, Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Election Day has been designated as a floating holiday for employees in the CSEA, PEF, UUP and M/C units. It is a fixed holiday for staff represented by ALES. Classes will be in session.  Offices will be open & employees will be expected to report to work.  CSEA and PEF represented employees may observe the floating holiday with supervisor’s approval or receive credit for the floater to be used at a later date, not to exceed one year from date earned. For UUP-represented and M/C employees, Election Day will be observed the day after Thanksgiving.

Classes are in session. Classified staffing should be minimal and will require prior approval from the supervisor. 

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2011

Classes will not be in session and only essential services will be maintained.  Supervisors should provide a liberal leave policy for employees on Friday, November 25, 2011.  Friday, November 25, 2011 is designated as the alternate day for observance of Election Day for UUP-represented and M/C employees. 

Christmas, Sunday, December 25

Christmas Day will be observed on Monday, December 26.
