Institutional Research

The Mission of the Office of Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) provides valid and reliable data to current students, faculty, staff and offices at SUNY Delhi, to the System Administration Office of SUNY, the State of New York, and to the Federal Government, to parents and prospective students.

Organization

The Office of Institutional Research is included in the Office of the Registrar and reports to the Dean of Enrollment Services. The Registrar/Director of Institutional Research is Nancy Smith.  He is available at smithnl@delhi.edu, or at 607-746-4543, or via snail mail at 147 Bush Hall, Delhi, NY, 13753.

Services Offered

The OIR provides qualitative and survey research, analysis of data, data drawn from Banner and can act as an intermediary to Operations, the programming arm of CIS that draws data from Banner.  OIR empowers functional users to get the data they need, either at their own desktop, from programs already written or via new programs.  Basic demographic information about SUNY Delhi is produced through OIR.  The Office of Institutional Research at SUNY Delhi is linked to the larger institutional research functions at colleges and universities across the nation.  See this page for links to institutional research elsewhere.

Confidentiality

OIR assures complete confidentiality of all data, whether they be survey data, data drawn from Banner or data from the SUNY records.  When possible, survey respondents are guaranteed anonymity, but are always guaranteed confidentiality.
