Fitness Center Challenge

Sign-up today for the "Sweet Hearts" team fitness challenge.

Teams of 2-4 individuals will compete for prizes in the following categories

Men's Team Combined Team
Women's Team Faculty/Staff Team

Each teams logs as many minutes as they can (maximum 90 minutes per person per day) between February 1 and February 26, 2010. The team in each category with the most combined minutes will be the "Sweet Hearts" Team Fitness Challenge Winner. 

Challenge winners will be notified by March 8th.

Team members must log their hours at the desk in the fitness center.

Fitness Center staff will be available to assist you with sign-up and logging minutes.

 

WHY do the "Sweet Hearts" Fitness Center Challenge?

February is "American Heart Month". What better time to take care of your heart and decrease your risk of heart disease. 

Exercise protects your heart. The CDC recognizes cardiac disease as the number 1 killer of both men and women in the United States. Most cardiac disease is preventable by living a lifestyle that includes a healthy diet and regular exercise.

 If you already exercise regularly, great! Challenge your friends to get in even better shape. If you don't, use this challenge to get into the habit. Even if you don't compete to win prizes, set a goal to meet the minimum 30 minutes, 5 days a week of moderate cardiovascular exercise recommended by the American College of Sports Medicine.
