2009 NJCAA Cross Country National Championships
The Bronco's won their 6th consecutive NJCAA Cross Country National Championship on Saturday, November 7th, at Fingerlakes Community College.  Chris Burke won the individual title with a time of 27:42 over the 5 mile course, 16 seconds ahead of Harper's Jesus Escareno.  Burke's 1st place finish marks his 3rd individual NJCAA title and 5th NJCAA All-American honor. The men's team total of 22 points was the lowest point total in the history of the NJCAA D III Championship event.  A total of 6 SUNY Delhi men's runners earned NJCAA All-American honors:

Will Ennis (So): 19th place

The Lady Bronco's had a strong showing at the 2009 NJCAA Cross Country Championships finishing 4th overall, 35 points behind winner Ocean County College.  Freshman Hannah Backus, Delaware Academy HS, ran her best race of the season to finish 6th overall with a time of 21:07 and earn 2nd team All-American honors.  Also earning All-American status was Nicole Darling (11th, honorable mention All-American) with a time of 21:13.

Nicole Darling, Jordan-Elbridge NY, has been honored as the NJCAA DIII Cross Country Runner of the week for her performance at Community College of Rhode Island.  Congratulations to Chris Burke (Tully, NY) for being named NJCAA DIII Athlete of the Week (9/14/2009).  Burke finished 5th overall at the Cobleskill Fighting Tiger Invitational and was the 1st Junior College finisher.  In 2008 Burke was the individual runner-up and earned All-American honors at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships.
