Bronco Team's Bring Home Hardware From National Championships
Last year the Delhi Men's team became the first ever to make the podium as a team with no individual All-Americans. With only one of last years national competitors back, the men repeated that feat again this year. Behind a great race from Sophomore Levi Anderson (Oneonta HS), Freshman Brandon Capo-Roth (Pawling), Tyler Angioli (Fonda-Fultonville), sophomore Belony Borange (Valley Stream) and Denny Travis (Windsor) all crossed the line within 22 seconds of each other to secure the position on the podium, nine points ahead of Mohawk Valley.
The women's team also placed third overall, one year after failing to field a complete team. With only one runner returning from last year, many new faces stepped up to put the team back among the best in the country. Led by sophomore All-American Kerry Connors (Washingtonville) and All-American Freshman Woodlyn Dorismond (Clara Barton), Casey Cole (Tully), Kelsey Esselman (Monroe-Woodbury) and Jackie Yambor (Walton) ran strong races to beat Mohawk Valley out for the last team trophy by 16 points.
Bronco Men Win Second Straight Regional Title; Women Second
Just one week after losing to Mohawk Valley at the Conference Championships, the men's cross country team avenged the loss and successfully defended their regional championship from last year! Led by their four All-Region runners, Tyler Angioli (Fonda-Fultonville HS), Farris Ramada (Mahopac HS), Brandon Capo-Roth (Pawling HS) and Levi Anderson (Oneonta HS), the team easily won the team title 39-51. The women's team was second to Mohawk Valley who is ranked #1 in the country. A week after losing to Mohawk Valley by 7 points, the ladies made up more ground and were only 2 points back. They also had four All-Region honors that went to Kerry Connors (Washingtonville HS), Kelsey Esselman (Monroe-Woodbury HS), Woodlyn Dorismond (Clara Barton HS) and Casey Cole (Tully HS). Next up for both teams is the National Championships.
Delhi Men and Women Finish Second in Mountain Valley Conferece
Both the men's and women's teams finished second in the Mountain Valley Conference Championships. The men finished just three points behind Mohawk Valley. The Broncos put eight runners in front of MV's 4th runner but were unable to overcome the high finish by MV's top 3. The women also took second, only seven points behind Mohawk Valley who is ranked #1 in the nation. With the great performance the women moved up to #3 in the most recent national poll. The men were led by All-Conference freshman Brandon Capo-Roth (Pawling HS) and Tyler Angioli (Fonda-Fultonville HS). The women also had two all-Conference runners in sophomore Kerry Connors (Washingtonville HS) and freshman Kelsey Esselman (Monroe-Woodbury HS). Next up for the team is the Regional Championship meet at Finger Lakes Community College.

Men and Women Win Team Titles at Mt. St. Mary's
Both the men's and women's teams won the Junior College team titles at the Mt. St. Mary's Invitational. The meet had a total of 20 schools represented. Overall, the men placed 3rd and the women 6th! This was a great showing by the team to start their October racing season that will include their home meet next Wednesday, the conference and the regional championships.
SUNY Delhi Cross Country Races at Jack Daniels Shootout
Both the men's and women's teams ran at SUNY Cortland in the Jack Daniels Shootout. The men had a strong performance improving on their compression from last weekend at every spot. The top five men ran to a 31 second spread, top seven were 38 seconds and the top 10 were only separated by 55 seconds. The reward for the strong team performance was a victory over the 4th ranked team in the country, Onondaga Community College. The men, who went into the race ranked 8th, were led by Levi Anderson (Oneonta HS) for the second time this season. The women were led by Kerry Connors (Washingtonville HS) for the second straight weekend. Connors placed 29th overall for the highest finish by a Bronco runner as an individual. The teams now have a weekend off before going to Mt. St. Mary's for an invitational.
SUNY Delhi XC Teams Compete at Oneonta
Both the men's and women's teams traveled to Oneonta for the Early Bird Invitational running exclusively against four-year programs for the first time this season. Both teams placed ahead of two four-year programs and showed a nice progression from last week. The women were led by returning All-American Kerry Connors (Washingtonville HS) who completed her 4500 meter course in 18:45. She was followed closely by freshman Kelsey Esselman (Monroe-Woodbury HS) who crossed in 18:52. The men's team was led by freshman Denny Travis (Windsor HS) who completed the 6 kilometer course in 20:58. The men showed great depth with their top 5 men finishing in a 38 second window, their top 7 in a 50 second spread and their top 10 were separated by 1:02. Next week the teams will travel to Cortland for the Jack Daniels Shoot-out.
SUNY Delhi XC Opens Their Season at Cobleskill

Next week the teams will travel to SUNY Oneonta.
Bronco XC Rosters Are Taking Shape for 2013 Season
Both the men's and women's team look to have bigger rosters than last year in the fall season. For the women, Kerry Connors (Washingtonville, NY) is the only returner from last year's roster. Connors, a two-time All-American as a freshman (XC and 800 meters) will lead a strong group of incoming freshman as they look to add to the program's historical reputation.
Returning for the men are four of the top eight from last year's team. Top returners Levi Anderson (Oneonta, NY) and Connor O'Keefe (Hyde Park, NY) were top 25 finishers at the National Championships last year. Brendan Callaghan (Commack, NY) and Belony Borange (Valley Stream, NY) were consistently in the teams top eight runners. With a number of other returners that developed well during the winter and spring seasons as well as a strong group of incoming freshman, the team looks to climb back to the top of the national rankings again.
