Two Bronco Men Compete in the NJCAA Half-Marathon Championship
Sophomore Ohure Sam (Tully HS) and Josh Myers (Ballston Spa HS) traveled to northern Texas hosted by South Plains Community College on November 17th. Ohure ran 1 hour 17 minutes and 28 seconds while Josh ran 1 hour 23 minutes and 22 seconds.

Two Bronco Women Earn All-American While The Men Place Third As A Team
Sophomore Jesse Jacob (Walton HS) earned second team All-American honors while teammate Kerry Connors (Washingtonville HS) earned honorable mention All-American Saturday at the NJCAA Cross Country Championships hosted by SUNY Delhi. Jacob placed 10th overall and Connors 15th. Meanwhile the Bronco Men's team ran a tactical team race to place third in the nation. The team had a 49 second spread from #1-#5 and placed their 7th runner ahead of every other teams.
Coach Munro Named Region III Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year
In his first season as the coach at SUNY Delhi, coach Robb Munro was named the Region III Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year after the men's team won the region with an impressive performance. This was the Bronco men's 19th region III title.

The Region III Cross Country Championships were held at Proctor Park in Utica, NY. The day started off great with Jesse Jacob (Walton, NY) winning the overall title one week after a frustrating day at the conference meet. Jesse moved from 6th place at 1000 meters to 2nd at the halfway point and ended up with a commanding victory 21 seconds clear of the next finisher. Kerry Connors (Washingtonville) ran to a 4th place finish to earn all-region as well. The women's team placed 3rd, only four points out of first in a very tight team race.
The men's team then hit the starting line and took over the race with their depth. The Broncos packed seven finishers in front of Mohawk Valley's 4th and Alfred State's 3rd runners. Leading the way were sophomores Josh Myers (Ballston Spa HS) and Joelsen Resimo (Binghamton HS) taking 4th and 8th respectively to earn all-region honors.
Next up for the Broncos is the National Championship race on their home course Saturday November 10th!

The Bronco Men Dominate Mountain Valley Conference Meet; Women Take Second
The SUNY Delhi Men's cross country team dominated the Mountain Valley Conference Championships at Lake Placid Saturday behind strong performances from all-conference freshman Connor O'Keefe (FDR) who placed fourth and Levi Anderson (Oneonta HS) who placed sixth. What looked like a close battle with Mohawk Valley through three runners was blown wide open when the Broncos put their 4-5-6-7 runners in front of Mohawk Valley's fourth. All seven of Delhi's counting runners were across the line in the first fourteen finishers. The men's point total of 40, was 19 points clear of the runner-up team.
For the women, the team placed second overall behind the strong performance from Freshman Kerry Connors (Washingtonville HS) who placed second to earn all-conference honors. Next up for the Broncos is the Regional Championships meet to be held at Proctor Park in Utica on Saturday the 27th.

The SUNY Delhi cross country programs both picked up wins in the Bronco Weekday Classic Wednesday evening. The women were led by sophomore Jess Jacob (Walton, NY) who won the individual championship in impressive fashion coming across the line 25 seconds ahead of the next runner. The men were led by Freshman Connor O'Keefe (FDR High School) who placed third overall and first among collegiate runners. The men's team easily outdistanced the second place team by 33 points!
Pete Schweitzer Named NJCAA Coaches Association Runner of the Week
Pete Schweitzer, a sophomore from Arlington High School, was named the NJCAA Coaches Association Runner of the Week for his performance at the Oneonta Airfield Invitational this weekend. Pete is having a breakout season for the Broncos and was the top junior college runner in Saturday's race. His time of 27:15 was a minute and four seconds faster than he ran on that same course last year.
Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Have Strong Showing at Oneonta
The men's team ran much faster than a week ago and cut their five man spread time down to 2 minutes and 2 seconds. The team had seven runners under 30 minutes for the 8,000 meter course. The Women's team also ran much stronger than a week ago over a longer course. In their only 6,000 meter race of the season, the women matched their spread time from a week ago at Cobleskill.
Kerry Connors honored as National Runner of the Week
Kerry Connors, a freshman from Washingtonville, NY majoring in Liberal Arts was honored this week as the NJCAA Division III Coaches Association Runner of the Week! In Kerry's first collegiate race, she finished 13th overall and 1st among junior college competitors at the Cobleskill Invitational running 20:26 for the 5 kilometer course.
Cross Country Teams off to a Strong Start
The cross country team at SUNY Delhi has had a terrific start to their season. The sophomore members of the team traveled to Oneonta for the Early Bird Invitational on September 1st. The team traveled again on September 8th to the Cobleskill Invitational. The women were led by freshman Kerry Connors (Washingtonville, NY) who placed 13th overall in her first collegiate race and was honored as the National Runner of the Week. The men's team was led by Pete Schweitzer who placed 6th overall in the race. Also placing for the men were sophomore Joelsen Resimo (Binghamton, NY) in 22nd and freshman Levi Anderson (Oneonta, NY) in 24th. The team performances so far have earned them high national rankings with the women ranked 4th and the men 5th.
Cross Country/Track and Field Hires New Coach
SUNY Delhi has hired Robb Munro as the new cross country/track and field coach. Munro comes from the Bainbridge-Guilford Central Schools where he served as a middle school Social Studies teacher and indoor and outdoor track and field coach. Munro also coached cross country and track and field athletes from Harpursville and Greene.
