Athletic Accomplishments and Honors:
Coach Wood was an 11-time NJCAA All-American and 7-time NJCAA National Champion in Cross Country and Track. He went on to compete at Seton Hall University receiving All-Big East Conference honors, IC4A honors, and ran on a NCAA provisional qualifying Distance Medley Relay that ran 9:43. He finished his collegiate eligibility at Southern Connecticut placing 10th at the 2007 NCAA DII National Championships in the 3000 Steeplechase.

Prior to SUNY Delhi:
During the 2007-2008 school year, Coach Wood was the assistant coach at SCSU for Women's Cross Country and Track and Field. The Cross Country team finished 3rd in the Northeast-10 conference and 4th at NCAA D II Northeast Regional Championships. The Track and Field team went on to win both indoor and outdoor Northeast-10 conference titles and finished 3rd at the New England Championships. Coach Wood worked with several NCAA DII National Championship qualifiers including 1 NCAA DII All-American in the 400 IH.
