This weeks athlete of the week is Men's Tennis number 1 singles player, Nick Reynolds. Nick had a three set win against Broome Community College and Adirondack Community College last week. He is currently undefeated in Region III play. Nick is a recreation and sports management major from Binghamton, NY.

This week’s athlete of the week is Ryan Evans for Men’s Golf.  Ryan shot an even par 72, leading the team for the title at the SUNY Delhi Invitational at the Delhi College Golf Course.  Ryan is a senior from Norwich, NY and is in the Professional Golf Management program.

 This week’s athlete of the week is Men's Lacrosse player Matt Siracusa. Matt had 4 goals and 1 assist in Delhi's 15-12 loss to HVCC on Friday and 2 goals and 3 assists in Delhi's 16-8 victory over Cayuga. Matt is a Senior Physical Education major from Guilderland High School.

This weeks athlete of the week is 2nd year lacrosse attackman A.J.
Desimone. A.J. had 6 goals and 4 assists to bring Delhi their first two wins of the season against TC3 (12-7) and Alfred State (16-8).
A.J. is a Business Administration major from Whitesboro, NY.

Sophomore, David Waite won two events in a 14 team Swimming & Diving Invitational at SUNY Delhi in December. David was first in 1 Meter diving and 3 Meter diving. David is in the Architectural Technology program and is from Rome, NY.

Z. Brown Zavior Brown
Sophomore Zavior Brown, ran 1:56:23 at the UAlbany Great Dane Classic hosted in the Armory in New York City on January 21st, 2011. He finished 7th overall out of 39 runners. Zavior is currently ranked 3rd in the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field rankings. Zavior is from Pine Bush, NY and is majoring in Computer Aided Drafting

Pamela Sosa Freshman Women's Basketball Player Pamela Sosa is this weeks Female Athlete of the Week. She had a double-double in the Bronco's opening tournament on Sunday against Alfred CC scoring 19 points. Pam is averaging 13 points a game and is shooting 50% from the field. Pamela is liberal arts major from NY, NY.
Men's Basketball Player Ronnie Bethea is this weeks Male Athlete of the Week. He scored 18 points and had 5 rebounds in the season opener against Corning CC and had 12 points and 5 rebounds on Sunday against Suffolk-Grant. Ronnie is a sophomore from Harlem, NY and is majoring in Marketing. Ronnie B.

Jason Phillips, a sophomore from Moravia, NY is this weeks Male Athlete of the Week. Jason won the 2010 Mountain Valley Conference individual title on Friday at Mohawk Valley CC. He ran a time of 22:04 for 4 miles to lead the Broncos to the team victory. Jason is a returning NJCAA All-American, he placed 5th at the 2009 NJCAA National Championships. Jason majors in Recreation and Sports Management.


This weeks Female Athlete of the Week is Amarillo, TX native Kelsey Pratt. Kelsey helped lead Delhi to a record 27 wins and the team's second Mountain Valley Conference Championship. Delhi won two matches on the road this week to finish 5-0 in conference play. At Fulton-Montgomery CC, Kelsey had 15 kills in a 3-0 victory. In the conference championship match at Herkimer CCC, Kelsey finished with 11 kills and 4 blocks, helping the team prevail in three games. Kelsey was also named Athlete of the Week this week by both the NJCAA and the NJCAA Region III.

10/19/10   This weeks athlete of the week is Justin Hearly. A 3rd year member of the Mens Golf team, Hearly shot 71-78 at the Hamilton Invitational for a 3rd place finish out of 88 golfers. The team finished 4th of 16 and Justin's 71 was the lowest round of the event. Then at the Manhattan/NYU Invitational he shot 74-77 for another 3rd place finish, leading the team to a 2nd place finish overall. Justin is a Professional Golf Management Major from Albany, NY.


This weeks Athlete of the Week is Men's Soccer keeper Tyler Kraus. Over the last two weeks of play Tyler has held opponents to only 2 goals and had his first collegiate shutout against Adirondack Community College. Tyler is a team leader both in goal and as a forward. He is a junior in Construction Management from Trumansburg NY.

Volleyball player Jackie Bailey, a sophomore is this week's Athlete of the Week. Jackie helped lead the team to a 5-2 record this past week. At TC3 she had 32 digs, 11 kills, and 3 aces to help the team to a 3-2 victory. At the Cara Bryant Memorial Tournament at Onondaga Community College this weekend Jackie's consistent and strong play was evident as the team finished 3rd out of 12 teams with a 4-2 record. Her 55 digs, 22 kills, 9 blocks, and 5 aces earned her a selection to the all-tournament team. Jackie is a liberal arts major. 



This week’s male Athlete of the Week is Tom Garby. A senior player for the Golf team, Garby shot a 76-69 this weekend at the Ohio Dominican University Kisor Classic, placing 2nd out of 51 golfers in the tournament, leading the Bronco’s to a 3rd place team finish. Tom is a professional golf management major from Warwick, NY.

This week’s female Athlete of the Week is women’s volleyball player Kristin Tucker. As starting setter, Tucker helped lead the Lady Bronco’s to a 6-1 record on the week. She is key to Delhi’s balanced offensive attack and finished the week with 156 assists, 19 aces, 37 digs, and 5 kills. Tucker was also named the NJCAA Division III Volleyball Player of the Week. Tucker is an accounting major from Amarillo, TX.



The Athlete of the Week for this week is women's volleyball player Monica Mielinis. She assisted the team to a 3-0 win over Ulster Community College with 5 kills, 2 assists and 1 dig and a 2nd place finish at the Hawks Invitational Tournament at Mohawk Valley Community College with 28 kills, 18 digs, 7 blocks, and 4 aces. She was also selected to the All-Tournament Team along with teammate Kristin Tucker. Monica is a sophomore Liberal Arts Major from Lynbrook NY.

This weeks Female Athlete of the Week is Tennis Player Lindsey DelVecchio. A Hotel and Resort Management student, Lindsey won number one singles matches versus Herkimer Community Colleges Abby Smith (6-3, 6-2) and Mikalee Fletcher of Onondaga Community College (6-3, 6-4). She is also a member of the number one doubles with partner Cara Dooley. The pair split this week’s matches, winning at Herkimer and losing to OCC.




Chris Burnett, a freshman from Bainbridge NY, opened up his collegiate career at the Colgate University Harry Lang Invitational with a 2nd place overall finish. Burnett ran a time of 20:46 on the 6400 m (4 miles) course and was the top freshman in the field of 74 runners. Burnett also led the Broncos to a 2nd place team finish losing to Colgate University by 26 points and beating Utica College, LeMoyne College, and Nazereth College. Chris is a Liberal Arts major.
