What exactly is Family Day?
Family Day is a special, fun-filled day sponsored by SUNY Delhi's Student Life Division that has become a much-anticipated tradition at the college.  Family Day provides an opportunity for parents, grandparents, and siblings to visit their SUNY Delhi student in their college environment. It's a great opportunity for families to see how their freshman has adapted to college living or to reconnect with their Upperclassman student.

What is there to do during Family Day?
Family Day presents a broad array of activities and things to do both on and off campus in Delhi. There are a wide and diverse variety of activities available throughout the day on campus, as well as the Village of Delhi's annual Harvest Festival and other things to do downtown. There are special activities for little brothers and sisters, opportunities to get a family photo taken, and many other novel and unique events throughout the day.

What type of activities take place during Family Day?
The activities on campus run the entire gamut. You can check out the snake and reptile show, race slot cars, meet the world's most interactive robot, enjoy the hit movie "Monsters U", enjoy a relaxing, horse drawn carriage ride on the upper campus. You can also ride the shuttles to Delhi's Harvest Festival, the antique car show at the Auto Lab, or to visit the Delaware County Historical Association.

Is there anything special for little brothers and sisters to do?
The activities scheduled throughout the day are guaranteed to be fun and appropriate for the entire family. Little brothers and sisters can take in the movie "Monsters U'. ride the Roaming Railroad, enjoy the" Hand's-on Reptile Show", or race a slot car among other events. We're certain that our young visitors will also thoroughly enjoy the Golden Dragon Acrobats and Magicians from China.

How long does Family Day last?
Registration begins at 10 AM, and the events are staggered to take place throughout the day. We have, once again, scheduled the main event to start at 5 PM, in order to accommodate those families who have a long drive to get home after this busy day. For those families who will be staying later, there is a later, wrap-up event, "Think Fast" that begins at 8 PM in the Okun Theatre. There is also a Sunday Brunch served in MacDonald Hall from 10 am – 2 pm available for purchase.

Why do I have to register to attend?
All families are welcome to visit their students on Family Day.  However, by registering you are purchasing tickets to the delicious Family Day barbeque dinner and obtaining wristbands for entry into all of the day's events, including the evening show.  If you choose not to register, you may enjoy some of the happenings on campus and in the village but you will need to get your meal on your own as tickets will not be sold separately for the barbeque.  Also, if you plan to spend the night please also plan to book your accommodation early.

Are there long lines for the attractions?
Certain attractions will require waiting, and others will not. Every effort has been made to stagger the various events, so that our visitors can participate in as many of the Family Day events and attractions as possible. This year, the time period when the various Family Day give-a-ways has been extended, as have the dining hours. In response to many requests, there will once again be a limit of one photograph per family at our multiple photo attractions. This limit was put in effect in order to be fair to all registered families, and assure that all families can get a remembrance to take home with them.

What's included with the barbeque?
Whether you consider it a late lunch or an early dinner, the Family Day barbeque will surely fill you up! Menu details coming soon! (Only one meal is included with each ticket and only SUNY Delhi Students with meal plans may swipe their ID cards at the register.)

What exactly is the Delhi Harvest Festival?
The annual Harvest Festival, which always coincides with SUNY Delhi's Family Day, is a village-wide event featuring vendors, artisans, and craftspeople from the local and surrounding community. They fill the village's historic green and line both sides of Delhi's quaint Main Street.

How can we get downtown or to some of the other events located off campus?
There are free shuttle buses and vans running all day long. They leave from in front of Bush Hall and run a continuous circuit through downtown and to the various other events that take place off campus.

Will the Campus Store be open?
Absolutely! The Barnes and Noble Campus Store, located in Farrell Hall, will be open all day from 10 am – 6 pm for your shopping convenience.

Is there anything to do on Sunday?
You can enjoy a wonderful Sunday brunch served from 10 am – 2 pm in MacDonald Hall. You do not need to make advance reservations. Family members pay at the door.
