Health Services is part of the joint "Counseling & Health Services" department, and our mission is to provide students with counseling, medical and health education services that enrich their personal and academic growth. These services are complemented by a strong training and consultative role that promotes overall health, wellness and safety on our campus.
We believe that the college years are an excellent time to establish healthy attitudes and behaviors that can have a lifelong impact. Staff provides individual and group counseling, medical consultation and treatment, referral, and extensive wellness programming. Our goal is to help students integrate their college experience, develop healthy coping skills and healthy behaviors, and become educated advocates of their own health and wellbeing.
Our staff consists of individuals from many disciplines—health, counseling, and education, who specifically have chosen college health as their professional focus and are experienced in responding to the medical, counseling, and wellness needs of today’s diverse student body. Staff engage in professional development activities to stay current in their fields, and the department is focused on assessment and quality improvement efforts.
As an integral department of the Division of Student Life, Counseling & Health Services is committed to actively providing support and assistance to students in their pursuit of personal growth, including the strengthening of their physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral and spiritual development.
