Spring 2014 Orientation
January 18-19, 2014
New Student Fall Orientation is a 3-day program in late August/early September that is geared toward helping all new students transition to college life. Whether you are a first time freshmen, a transfer, or a returning adult student, New Student Orientation provides important information relevant to your success, including academic policies and meetings with faculty, information on tutoring and other specialized services, and sessions on campus life and student success. There are also opportunities to interact with faculty, staff and other students in more relaxed settings and to hear about opportunities for leadership and service. Research shows that students who actively participate in orientation are more likely to be successful and graduate from college.
By the time Orientation rolls around, most new students will have attended an Accepted Student Day program and completed some preliminary scheduling. Hopefully you will have met a few other new students during the student mixer as well. Starting college for the first time, returning to college after an absence of some time, or transferring to a new college, is a big step. It's hard to know what exactly to expect and some nervousness and apprehension is normal. New Student Orientation will help you get aquainted with the College and start you in the right direction.
In choosing SUNY Delhi you have selected a fine academic institution with a caring and supportive faculty and staff. Participating fully in Orientation will provide you with the information and contacts you will need to be a successful student. We're looking forward to your arrival on campus.
