Hello Parents & Families,

Residence Halls Closing for Fall Break
There are not any classes scheduled for Monday, Oct 13 and Tuesday, Oct 14. All residence halls close on Saturday, Oct 11 at 10:00 am. All residence halls reopen on Tuesday, Oct 14 at 12 noon. Students who need to request special permission to remain on campus should go to see their Residence Hall Director no later than 3:00 pm on Wednesday, Oct 8.Check the News & Announcements page for Fall Break Reminders and any future announcements. Please refer to the College Calendar for dates and times regarding upcoming academic deadlines and the Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks.

Mid-Term Grades and Academic Information: A Message from Dr. John S. Nader, Provost
"SUNY Delhi is committed to the success of your student, and we take pride in the high levels of academic achievement attained by many of our students. Our faculty and staff want to be your partner in promoting educational attainment. Therefore, we urge you to regularly visit with your student about his or her academic progress.
Students can pick up their mid-term grades from their academic advisor beginning Monday, Oct 20. Mid-term grades can also be viewed on Bronco Web. Please encourage your student to discuss their grades and course selection for next semester with their academic advisor. Ask them to share their grades with you and encourage them to attend all of their classes. Student success and parental involvement go hand in hand." Session B Classes
Eight week for-credit classes begin Wednesday, Oct 22 and run through Friday, Dec 12. Full-time students may enroll for additional credits, at no additional cost. Seats are limited and are on a first come, first served basis. Students can check out the Session B offerings and pick up registration forms at their academic division office.
Personal Property Insurance
The College strongly recommends that each student purchase property insurance to protect their electronics and belongings from theft, fire and damage. For more information on this very affordable product, visit the National Student Services, Inc. webpage or call (800) 256-6774.
Health & Counseling Services Are Ready to Assist Your Student!
Remember, when your student is feeling under-the-weather, or a little sad or stressed, we are here to help. Insurance is NOT required to be seen at our clinic in Foreman Hall and we have both walk-in and scheduled appointments available each day. Fall Phonathon
Students from various academic disciplines will be reaching out to Parents & Families this fall during the college’s annual Phonathon. This is an opportunity to ask one of our helpful students any questions you might have about campus life and to support The Delhi Fund. Your tax-deductible gift benefits student scholarships and other student services such as Peer Tutoring and Freshman Seminar. Please be generous when you are contacted or go online and "Make a Gift Now."
October Delhi Dollars Special
Add $50 Delhi Dollars to your Student’s ID by making a guest deposit at and get $5 FREE! All you need is your Student’s 800#. Delhi Dollars allow your student to use their ID in any campus dining venue, in campus vending machines, in the Barnes & Noble campus store and at participating off campus businesses. Dear Parents & Families,
SUNY Delhi’s Family Day 2014 ~ Saturday, September 27. Enjoy “Peace, Love and Delhi” at one of  Delhi’s finest traditions!

The reservation deadline to receive the Early Bird price is this Friday, September 19, 2014 at 4:00pm. Reservations will still be accepted after Friday.
Registration includes the Family Feast, all Saturday activities (except golf), entertainment and shuttle service. You can register online for both Family Day and the Golf Outing. The online form is secure and payment is easy through PayPal. We ask that you please bring a printed copy of your PayPal receipt.
If you plan on staying overnight, you can view a list of area accommodations on the Parent & Families webpage.

Mark your calendars for SUNY Delhi’s Family Day 2014, which takes place on Saturday, September 27. Enjoy “Peace, Love and Delhi” at one of  Delhi’s finest traditions!

By now you should have received a mailing which includes Family Day highlights, registration information and other important material. If you plan on staying overnight you can view a list of area accommodations on the Family Day or the Parent & Families webpage. We suggest you make your reservations early, as hotels fill up quickly. If you have not received our mailing, please check the Family Day website for all necessary information.

Dear Parents and Families, 
The beginning of the fall 2014 academic semester is right around the corner with classes beginning on Monday, September 1. Important dates for the semester can be found on the College Calendar webpage. Here is some information we would like to share with you to start the semester off right!
Residence Life Move-In Days
New Student Move-In:Friday, August 29. Move-In Crew volunteers are available to assist you in carrying belongings to your room until 2pm. Students must check in at or after their appointed time unless otherwise instructed, there is no provision for early arrivals. For Housing Assignment & Arrival Time: log in to the Housing Management System using your students ID number and password.
Returning Student Move-In: Sunday, August 31. Please call Residence Life if you have any questions (607) 746-4630.

Important information about Greek Life
It is important to know the differences between recognized fraternities and sororities versus unrecognized and banned ones. Please visit the Greek Life webpage for a recent letter sent to parents regarding pledging, Greek student requirements and other information pertaining to Greek Life. Call Bari Marshall, Student Activities Associate and Greek Council Advisor at (607) 746-4841 with any questions.
Student Employment Opportunities
The College has various jobs for students on campus. We encourage your student to visit the Employment Opportunities webpage frequently for available Student Jobs. Upon being hired, your student will need to fill out employment paperwork including identification for I-9 purposes. Please see the list of acceptable documents on the last page. Students interested in working for Dining Services/CADI should visit the CADIStudent Employment webpage.  
CADI Dining Services
The College Association at Delhi, Inc. (CADI) is looking forward to feeding your student in a couple of weeks! The deadline for students to change their dining plan is Friday, September 12 at 4pm, which can be done on the Housing Management System. Visit the CADI Parent section for dining services and meal plan information. Call (607) 746-4750 with any questions.

Student Health Insurance Waiver

The Student Health Insurance Waiver must be completed ANNUALLY – College policy requires that all full-time students purchase a student accident and health insurance plan unless they can prove they have equivalent coverage. All students are automatically billed $1,360 for the College’s Student Health Insurance plan. To remove the charge, you must complete the Online Waiver as soon as possible, and no later than October 1. For more information call (607) 746-4690. NOTE: We are offering a new plan this year from CDPHP which has enhanced benefits including dental coverage!
Off-Campus Students
College policy requires each student who lives off-campus, to provide their off-campus address and telephone number by Friday,September 19. Failure to do so will result in a hold being placed on the student’s record. Forms are located, and should be returned to, the Registrar or the Student Life Office, both located in Bush Hall. Forms may also be turned in at the Mandatory Meeting for off-campus students living locally on September 10.
