Dear Parents & Families,
Greetings from SUNY Delhi! We hope you will enjoy having your student home for the upcoming mid-winter break. We would like to update you on some important information to support your student’s success.
Residence Halls
All residence halls close at 10:00am on Saturday, February 25 and reopen Sunday, March 5 at 12noon for all students. Classes resume Monday, March 6. If your student will be on campus Saturday morning, have them sign up for a boxed breakfast that can be picked up on Friday, February 24. Students should read their Daily Student Email for the link to order their meal.
Traveling Home on the Trailways BusFeb 2017
Students can buy their tickets at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore located in Farrell Center. Employees can assist students with purchasing their tickets with Credit Cards, Delhi Dollars, and Cash. Over the phone transactions are not permitted. Tickets can be purchased during normal Bookstore Hours Mon-Thu 8:30-5:00 or Fri 8:30-4:00. To find the most up-to-date departure times, students can call Trailways at 1-800-858-8555.
Scholarship Applications for 2017-2018
Scholarship applications are now being accepted for 2017-2018. We encourage all students to complete an essay as well as a FAFSA to be considered for scholarships that require documented financial need. This is an online application process and for most scholarships, it is not necessary to apply for a specific scholarship. Visit the Scholarship webpage for additional information.
Financial Aid for 2017-2018
It’s FAFSA time! After completing your 2016 tax return, you should file your FAFSA at as soon as possible. Students must have the FAFSA finalized to be considered for grants, loans and work study. March 1 is the recommended deadline for campus-based aid consideration. Additional information can be found at Student Financial Services.
Petition to Graduate – Deadline March 15
Is your student planning on graduating this May? If so, please remind your student that they must complete a Petition to Graduate and Degree Works Evaluation, with their advisor, due no later than Wednesday, March 15. Failure to complete this information may result in your student not being eligible to graduate. Please refer to the Registrar’s webpage and the Commencement webpage for additional information.
Mid-term Grades
Students may pick up their mid-term grades from their academic advisors beginning Monday, March 20. Please encourage your student to meet with their academic advisor to discuss their grades, academic progress and course selection for next year. Grades can be viewed on Bronco Web after March 24.
Tutoring Services
Tutoring is a FREE service available for ALL students! There is no fee for tutoring, and there is no limit to the number of courses or hours students can receive tutoring. Students should come to the Resnick Academic Achievement Center in Bush Hall to fill out an application. The tutoring schedule is available through the Tutorial Services Webpage. Be sure to have your student check out the Writing Center and the Math Center for additional help in those subjects.
Session B Classes
Classes begin Monday, March 20. Full-time students may enroll for additional credits, at no additional cost. Seats are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can search for available classes through the Registrar’s Webpage. If they have questions, the Registrar can be of assistance at 607-746-4560.
A Message from Health Services
It’s cold outside! If your student develops flu-like symptoms, we encourage them to come to the Health Center in Foreman Hall. NO insurance is needed! Students are not required to make an appointment, they may just walk in. Visit the Counseling & Health Services page for hours of operation and additional resources for your student.
