Dear Parents & Families,
Fall PEWe hope you and your student are doing well as we wrap up the first month of the semester. The fall foliage has already begun to change and we enjoyed seeing so many of you at Family Day! Be sure to frequently visit the Parent & Families webpage for important information for your student's success.

Residence Halls Closing for Fall Break – Sat, Oct 8
There are no classes scheduled for Monday, Oct 10 and Tuesday, Oct 11. All residence halls close on Saturday, Oct 8 at 10:00 am. All residence halls reopen on Tuesday, Oct 11 at 12 noon. Students requesting permission to remain on campus should see their Residence Hall Director no later than 3pm on Wednesday, Oct 5. Please refer to the College Calendar for dates and times regarding upcoming academic deadlines and the Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks.

Boxed Breakfast for Students
Will your student still be on campus Saturday morning for Fall Break? CADI to the rescue! Students can sign up for a boxed breakfast they can pick up on Friday, Oct 7 from MacDonald Dining Center between 12noon and 9pm. Students should fill out the online form by Wednesday, Oct 5. Any questions can be directed to Hannah Hauser at 607-746-4773.
Mid-Term Grades and Academic Information: A Message from Dr. David Brower, Interim Provost
"SUNY Delhi is committed to the success of your student, and we take pride in the high levels of academic achievement attained by many of our students. Our faculty and staff want to be your partner in promoting educational attainment. Therefore, we urge you to regularly visit with your student about his or her academic progress. Students can pick up their mid-term grades from their advisor beginning Monday, Oct 17. Mid-term grades can also be viewed on Bronco Web. Please encourage your student to discuss their grades and course selection for next semester with their academic advisor. Ask them to share their grades with you and encourage them to attend all of their classes. Student success and parental involvement go hand in hand." –Interim Provost Brower

Deadline for Petition for December Graduation – Oct 14
Is your student planning on graduating this December? If yes, they must complete a degree works evaluation and submit a petition to graduate, before Friday, October 14, 2016. If they miss this October deadline, they are not guaranteed a spot in the commencement brochure. If you have any questions, please contact the Registrar’s Office. Save the Date for December Commencement: Friday, December 16. 

Session B Classes
Eight week for-credit classes begin Wednesday, Oct 19 and run through Friday, Dec 9. Full-time students may enroll for additional credits at no additional cost. Seats are limited and are on a first come, first served basis. Students can check out the Session B offerings and pick up registration forms at their academic division office.

Counseling & Health Services – We Are Here for Your Student!
Is your student feeling under the weather? Or perhaps a little sad or stressed? We are here to help. Remember, insurance is NOT required to be seen at our clinic in Foreman Hall and we have both walk-in and scheduled appointments available each day, Monday through Friday. Deadline to submit Student Health Insurance Wavier – this Friday
If your student has coverage under your policy or has their own health insurance policy, you must waive the college policy by Friday, Sept 30. All students are automatically billed $1,560 for the college's Student Health Insurance plan. To remove the charge, you must complete the Online Waiver. If you have already waived this fee, we urge you to check your student's bill to be sure the charge has been removed. For assistance with your student's bill contact Student Financial Services (607) 746-4570. For assistance with the online waiver call the Counseling & Health Center (607) 746-4690.

Fall Phonathon
Students will be reaching out to Parents & Families this fall during the college’s annual Phonathon. This is an opportunity to ask one of our helpful student callers any questions you might have about campus life and to support The Delhi Fund. Your tax-deductible gift benefits student scholarships and other important student services such as Peer Tutoring and Freshman Seminar. Please be generous when you are contacted or go online and "Make a Gift Now."

October Delhi Dollars Special
Add $50 Delhi Dollars to your student's account through the month of October and get $5 added for FREE! Delhi Dollars allows your son or daughter to use their ID in any campus dining venue, in campus vending machines, in the Barnes & Noble campus store and at participating off-campus businesses.
