Hello Parents, Family Members and Friends,

It’s hard to believe we are already preparing for December Commencement. Here is some important information for you and your student for the last weeks of the semester.

Registration for Spring 2015 Semester

Students are preparing to register for classes for next semester. Special assistance is available to new students Friday, Nov 21 and Monday, Nov 24 from 12:45-1:30. The location depends on your student’s major. Your student can refer to the information sent in their Daily Student Email, displayed on the Digital Screens or speak to their Academic Division Secretary. These sessions are an excellent resource for students navigating the online registration process for the first time.

Thanksgiving Break

All residence halls close on Wednesday, Nov 26 at 10:00 am. There are no classes scheduled for Wednesday, Nov 26, Thursday, Nov 27 or Friday, Nov 28. All residence halls reopen for students on Sunday, Nov 30 at 12:00 noon. Dining Services will reopen MacDonald Dining Center on Sunday, Nov 30 at 1:00 pm. Classes resume Monday, Dec 1. Please refer to the College Calendar website for academic deadlines, and the Winter Break schedule.

December Commencement

Commencement will take place Friday, Dec 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Clark Field House. Graduates will receive an unlimited number of guests tickets for the event. If you need overnight accommodations, visit the About the Area page and click the link on the right side of the page.

Please remember: If your student has sufficient credits to graduate this semester, they are required to complete a Degree Works verification and submit a petition to graduate. Even though the deadline has passed for inclusion in the Commencement Program, students can still submit petitions, participate in the Commencement ceremony and earn their degrees.

January Term Courses

Several classes will be offered online during J-term, December 22, 2014 – January 16, 2015. This can be a great way for your student to earn extra credits over winter break. Visit the J- Term webpage for a current list of courses offered and registration information. Please note, if your student receives financial aid for J-term, it will reduce their spring aid. Your student may Register online or visit the Registrar’s Office, 124 Bush Hall.
