How do I generate laser labels from a delimited text file?

  1. Open Microsoft Word
  2. Click 'Tools' on the Menu Bar
  3. Point to 'Letters and Mailings'
  4. Click 'Mail Merge' (Wizard opens on the right side of the screen)
  5. Select 'Labels' as the document type
    Select Labels
  6. Click 'Next: Starting document' on the bottom
  7. Select 'Change document layout'
  8. Click 'Label options...' and Set the options as desired then Click 'OK'
    For example: Laser and ink jet, Tray: Manual Paper Feed, Label products: Avery standard, Product number: 5160 - Address.

  9. Click 'Next: Select recipients' on the bottom
  10. Select 'Use an existing list'
  11. Click 'Browse' to locate the delimited/address file, edit as necessary, Click 'OK'
    You may need to change the Look in/Location and the Files of Type to 'All files' to locate the file.
  12. Click 'Next: Arrange your labels' on the bottom
  13. Click 'Address block...' make changes as necessary
  14. Click 'Match Fields...' identify fields as required
    Match all fields
  15. Click 'OK'
  16. Click the 'Update all labels' button
  17. Click 'Next: Preview your labeks' on the bottom
  18. Edit as neccessary
  19. Click 'Next: Complete the merge' on the bottom
  20. Print labels
