ContentSUNY Delhi Introduces New Academic Programs
DELHI, NY … Beginning this fall, students at SUNY Delhi may enroll in four new unique academic programs. New academic program options at Delhi include a Bachelor of Technology (B.T.) in Architectural Design and Building, a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Club Management, and associate degrees in Criminal Justice and Office Management and Administration. “These four new degrees are in addition to the over 40 programs we already offer.” said Craig S. Wesley, Dean of Enrollment Services. “The new B.T. and B.B.A. bring the bachelor’s degrees at Delhi to a total of 13.” SUNY Delhi’s new B.T. in Architectural Design and Building marks the first baccalaureate for the college’s Technology Division. The new offering builds on the success of Delhi’s associate degree in architectural technology, which emphasizes design with a focus on construction. Qualified students with a two-year degree in architectural technology may enroll following a portfolio review by Delhi’s faculty. Delhi’s program will allow students to move on to pursue a professional degree at the master’s level and eventual licensure as an architect. It will also prepare graduates for work in architectural design and building firms. SUNY Delhi’s Club Management B.B.A. is the fifth bachelor’s program to be added to the college’s array of four-year hospitality management degrees. The Club Management B.B.A. has a special focus on skills needed to manage the varied private and public clubs, including financial management, human resources, food and beverage management, supervision and training. The Criminal Justice Studies option focuses on delivering both career-oriented and transfer options to students. Students may enroll with the intention of transferring to a senior college where criminal justice, criminology, sociology, public administration, or political science majors can be pursued. Also, this degree assists students in pursuing career options such as those available in police work, probation or parole offices, private security, or the juvenile justice system. The college’s new associate degree in Office Management and Administration will offer students the background needed to manage an office environment. According to Wesley, “This is a valuable option for students who have just graduated high school and want to enter the business world, but are unsure of where to start.” SUNY Delhi is a member of the State University of New York, the largest public higher education system in the U.S. Delhi’s seamless approach to education includes over 40 academic programs, and allows students to obtain one-year certificates and two-year associate degrees. Students may also pursue a four-year degree in select programs at Delhi.
