ContentArea Businessman Appointed to SUNY Delhi College CouncilDELHI, NY … James E. Sands of Meredith has been appointed by Governor George E. Pataki to a six-year term on the SUNY Delhi College Council. The College Council is a ten-member body, with each member being appointed on a rotating basis. The primary function of the Council is to serve as an advisory board to the college president. All positions on the Council are non-salaried. A highly respected corporate executive, Mr. Sands retired in 2000 as vice president of international human resources, agricultural products division, from American Cyanamid Company in Wayne, N.J. that capped a career spanning nearly 30 years of managing human resource activities for various divisions and subsidiaries of the corporation. Cyanamid, prior to its purchase by Wyeth Laboratories, employed approximately 40,000 thousand people and manufactured, marketed and sold products throughout the world. Mr. Sands holds a B.A. in Psychology from American International College, Springfield, Mass. He is married and has four children and eight grandchildren. -30- |
