SUNY DELHI Students Win Scholarships at NYS Green Industry Conference

Eight SUNY Delhi students were awarded scholarships at the New York State Green Industry Conference and Trade Show, in Rochester, N.Y., January 11-14. Delhi students received the overwhelming majority of scholarships presented at the conference.
The scholarship recipients included:
- Michael Ford - $1,000 S.V. Moffett II Scholarship.
- Adam Hicks - $1,000 John Cornman Scholarship.
- Robert Jewett - $850 New York State Turf Association (NYSTA) Scholarship
- Jeffrey Ferguson - $500 NYSTA Scholarship
- Jeffrey Nicolaisen - $500 NYSTA Scholarship
- Timothy Williams - $500 NYSTA Scholarship
- Cameron Cooper - $500 Hahn Memorial Scholarship
- Chance Sullivan - $500 Hahn Memorial Scholarship
For the third year in a row, SUNY Delhi students placed first in the Annual Turf-Bowl competition at the conference. Seventeen students attended and participated in the competition.
SUNY Delhi offers a unique opportunity for hands-on education and experience in golf course operations, turf management, landscape contracting, general horticulture, and park and recreation programs. Utilizing its own golf course for laboratory instruction, SUNY Delhi is one of only two colleges in the United States with a four-year degree in golf course management.
