Is Delhi Online Education for you?
Learning online can be quite different from learning in the classroom, and
it's not for everyone. Here are some statements to help you decide if learning
online is for you. Jot down your answers next to numbers 1-17 on a piece of
paper (Yes/No):
- When juggling work, family, school, sports, hobbies, and different
classes, I am good at managing time.
- I am not able to stay focused and am easily distracted.
- I am highly motivated to learn.
- When faced with difficulties, I don't seek alternatives to solve the
problem. I give up quite easily.
- I enjoy and am able to communicate well with technology - using email,
discussion boards, or instant messaging.
- I don't enjoy working at home or at different times of the day or
night.
- I have a computer and high speed internet connection.
- I believe that my education is my instructor's responsibility - and my
grade is mostly up to her or him.
- I'm confident in my learning abilities.
- I am reluctant to communicate with instructors and/or
fellow classmates when I need help or have questions.
- I am goal oriented - and work hard to achieve my goals.
- I am not willing to actively participate in my learning process - by doing
research, working on projects, and interacting with others electronically.
- I take initiative, and can work collaboratively.
- When I fail a course, it is generally the instructor's fault.
- I like to work independently.
- I do not like to express my opinion in writing.
- I believe that I can get convenient, flexible, high quality instruction
online, and that online courses will meet my learning needs.
