Gynecologic Clinic and Birth Control Services
Services available include:
All women requesting to initiate birth control must have an examination and a pap smear at Student Health Services or show documentation of previous examination and a pap smear from their personal health care provider within the last year. GYN exams are free as is certain medications ordered and dispensed at the Student Health Service. There is a fee for laboratory tests that can be billed to insurance or paid for at the time of service. Women beginning oral contraceptives may purchase up to a one year supply. Several kinds of oral contraceptives are available. The Nuva Ring may also be purchased. Diaphragms may be fitted and prescribed. The OrthoEvra Patch may be prescribed. Depo-Provera injections may be administered for a fee. If desired, a prescription for various birth control options may be written and filled at a local pharmacy. |
