Student Code of Conduct Appendix 11

COVID-19 Addendum

Effective August 1, 2021

SUNY Delhi has carefully considered the best way to protect our community from COVID-19 and its highly contagious Delta variant. The health and wellbeing of our campus community remains our top priority. This document is to be considered an addendum to the Student Code of Conduct.

The college reserves the right to update and make edits to this document to be in line with the latest guidance from local, state, and national public health agencies as well as government officials. All updates to the document will be clearly noted with the date and posted on the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities website. This document supersedes any previous policies or practices.

The following items should be reviewed and followed in addition to the Student Code of Conduct:

  • All campus policies and procedures as described in the Student Handbook, the Student Code of Conduct, and the Terms and Conditions for College Housing (Housing License) are in effect during the fall semester.
  • Students living in college residence halls/town houses must be fully vaccinated or request and qualify for an exemption. (link policy for exemptions)
  • Students are responsible for all applicable fees and charges during the semester.
  • No outside guest is permitted in the residence halls/town houses. This includes day and overnight visitors, as well as students living off-campus.
  • Students will report to Student Health Services (Foreman Hall) immediately if they have been exposed to the coronavirus or person(s) exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or experience illness.
  • Students must comply with Campus Health Protocols for attending and obtaining diagnostic or surveillance COVID-19 testing weekly under published protocol.
    • All students (both vaccinated and unvaccinated) will be required to be tested the first week of classes.
    • Unvaccinated students (and those who have not successfully submitted vaccination documentation) will be required to test weekly.
    • Students who have successfully submitted vaccination documentation will be tested periodically during the semester.
  • Students will abide by all guidelines and policies of the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Delaware County Department of Health, Campus Health Services and New York State. This includes but is not limited to travel bans and restrictions, personal and public hygiene, and limiting the spread of coronavirus.
  • All SUNY Delhi students must possess their valid student ID when on campus and in common spaces.
  • Students must follow all guidelines for personal distancing and safety, including:
    • Students who are vaccinated will be required to wear a face mask while indoors in public settings, except when seated to eat or drink.
    • Students who have not been vaccinated and/or have not provided proof of vaccination will be required to:
      • Wear face coverings at all times when indoors or when in prolonged crowded outdoor gatherings. Face coverings do not need to be worn while in your assigned residence hall room when alone or only in the presence of a roommate; when seated to eat or drink; or while outdoors and able to maintain six feet of personal distance from others.
      • Where possible, allow for six feet of personal distancing between others.
    • All individuals should use proper handwashing and personal hygiene.

Unvaccinated students who test positive for COVID-19 may be sent home for the duration of their isolation. In the event of an outbreak of COVID-19, unvaccinated students (through medical/religious exemption or voluntary choice) may be required to leave the campus under the direction of the Department of Health for an extended period of time which may impact their ability to complete coursework in the given semester.
