The Marketing program prepares students for careers in the fast-paced world of marketing. This career choice provides many diverse opportunities. Graduates may find employment with marketing agencies, newspapers, trade journals, telecommunications companies, banks, government, and retailers. Positions specific to these may include: sales representative, market analyst, product planner, media manager, sales manager, retail associate, or marketing management trainer. Graduates also transfer to four-year colleges offering similar programs.
The Marketing curriculum requires 62 credit hours of study in a sequence of business-related courses which give students a broad background in and a clear understanding of marketing and its function in business and society.
Two instructional tracks are offered. One prepares students to enter the workforce directly upon graduation. The other is designed to accommodate those students whose goal includes transfer to a bachelor's degree program.
Students may participate in BIG, Bronco Investment Group. The purposes of the group are to learn and evaluate investment opportunities; acquire knowledge about money; use money to make money; learn to make wise decisions regarding money and avoid major financial mistakes. The group uses an online simulator to buy and sell stocks each week at club meetings.
Coursework is designed so that, in addition to required courses, students can select electives to broaden their interests and employment opportunities. Each student is also assigned a faculty advisor who will assist them in course selection and career guidance.
