REFUNDS AND REFUND POLICIES

Students may leave college at any time and for any reason. Students withdrawing from college must obtain an Application for Withdrawal form from Counseling and Health Services and obtain clearance from each of the offices listed on the form.

Special Note to Students with Federal Student Loans and Grants:  Federal regulations state that a student is eligible to receive aid based upon the amount of time in school. If you withdraw prior to the end of the semester you may not be allowed to keep all of your federal student aid which may create a liability due to the school.  Any refunds of financial aid you received may need to be returned to the school. Please contact the Student Accounts office if you are considering withdrawing to see how this may effect you.

When a student withdraws from college or drops individual classes, the student incurs the following liability based on the date of withdrawal:

Meal Plan refunds are based on the pro-rata value of time remaining under the meal plan OR the amount of money remaining resulting from usage, whichever is less up to and including the 10th week of scheduled classes. No refunds for meal plans will be given after the 10th week of classes.  Student ID cards must be returned to CADI upon withdrawal.  If the ID card is not returned, the cost of the ID card will be deducted from any refund.

Financial Aid Refunds

The College shall receive payment first and will refund (if applicable) Stafford and/or PLUS loans after they have been applied to the student’s account.  Financial Aid refunds are generated from the last aid type to pay on the account. All refunds, except PLUS refunds, will be made payable to the student.  Any refund from a PLUS Loan will be made payable to the parent borrower and sent to the permanent address.  All Financial Aid refunds to students will be sent through student mailboxes.
