The Student Life Division encompasses the following functions: Athletics, Residence Life, Student Activities, Greek Life, Counseling and Health Services, O'Connor Center for Community Engagement, Judicial Affairs, and University Police. The Vice President for Student Life is responsible for their supervision.
The Division also sponsors a Parent and Student Help Line (607-746-4505), webpage (http://www.delhi.edu/campus_life/parents/index.php), newsletter, and orchestrates Orientation programs and special events for students and their families.
The Mission of the Student Life Division is to facilitate the development and growth of the whole student through all Division endeavors; provide high quality facilities and programs for residential living, intercollegiate and intramural athletics, and student activities; maintain and promote a safe and healthy college environment; promote student responsibility for learning and academic success; facilitate the opportunity to learn through involvement in campus life, student leadership activities, community service, intercollegiate and intramural athletics; lead by modeling civility, respect, and inclusion; encourage accountability, assessment and the provision of quality services; and actively contribute to the advancement of the field. According to a recent student opinion survey, many student services at Delhi rank in the top three of all state-operated campuses. The College offers a vibrant residential environment with nearly 70 percent of students living on campus. The Division boasts a 75 percent participation rate in intramurals, community service, nationally-ranked activities with over 60 clubs and organizations, 21 intercollegiate sports, and highly-rated support services.
SUNY Delhi is committed to the concept that residential living complements and fosters the academic and intellectual development of students. National trends show that residential college students are more likely to be successful academically, and the majority of Delhi's student body live on campus. Delhi's Residence Life program seeks to promote a living-learning environment that helps students establish friendships, appreciate and respect others and their environment, make informed and ethical choices, and develop healthy lifestyles. Residence Life staff provide students the opportunity to increase learning and success by being contributing members of their residential community.
By living on campus, students are able to enjoy a friendly, quiet, and safe environment. Six residence halls, offering a variety of floor plans including suite styles, and Riverview Townhouses for upper-division and eligible international students, provide options for different student needs and preferences. These options include 24-hour quiet and living-learning environments specially designed for Veterinary Science majors. All of the halls are within a short walk to campus facilities and resources. Residential students have amenities like enhanced cable TV, wireless Internet, a telephone line with voice mail, and coin-less laundry room services. During the spring semester, students participate in the campus housing assignment process to select a specific room and living environment for the following academic year.
SUNY Delhi’s Housing Policy follows the rules and regulations for residence hall housing as promulgated by the State University of New York Board of Trustees. All undergraduate students must live in State-owned and operated residence facilities, with the following exceptions:
An ID card access system gives residential students entry to their halls. Each residence hall has at least one professional Residence Director (RD) and student leaders, or Resident Assistants (RAs), on each floor that give a 30:1 student-to-staff ratio. An RD is on call every night, and students trained as Night Hosts work in each residence hall, signing in visitors after hours on selected evenings. It is the responsibility of each student to keep a current college, home, and emergency contact on file with the Office of Residence Life in Catskill Hall or with the student's Resident Director. SUNY Delhi residents also have peace of mind with 24/7 University Police coverage.
The student-run Residence Hall Association (RHA) represents the rights and ideas of Delhi’s residential students. RHA and the Office of Residence Life sponsor over 300 programs and activities each year including workshops, parties, and trips.

The College Association at Delhi, Inc. (CADI) is a not‑for‑profit auxiliary corporation serving the SUNY Delhi community. CADI provides many campus services such as dining, the campus store, vending, student health insurance, Delhi Dollars accounts, and accounting services for student associations and other campus agencies.
CADI is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of students, faculty, and administrators. The Board determines budgets and policies of the corporation within the guidelines established by the College.
It is SUNY Delhi policy that all students who live on campus must purchase a residential meal plan each semester. Meal plans are non‑taxable, non‑transferable, and non‑refundable. Campus dining facilities: MacDonald Hall Dining Center, Farrell Commons, Library Café, Campus Convenience Store.
Counseling and Health Services
SUNY Delhi's Counseling and Health Services are used and highly rated by 75 percent of Delhi's students. The caring and professional staff are committed to helping students develop and maintain optimal levels of health and wellness.
Counseling Services exists to support and enhance the total educational experience of students. These services are located in Foreman Hall and are staffed by licensed professional counselors who provide confidential individual and group counseling for all students free of charge. (Confidentiality is assured except in cases where students are a danger to themselves and/or others.) Counselors deal with a variety of student concerns and issues such as stress management, substance abuse, family and relationship difficulties, adjustment problems, depression, anxiety, crisis intervention, and withdrawal procedures. Referrals are made to community agencies when appropriate. Educational programs are offered each semester on a wide variety of topics such as communication, stress management, time management, substance abuse, and wellness. Mediation services are also available to students and staff.
Located in Foreman Hall and open Monday through Friday with hours posted each semester, Health Services is a fully operational clinic staffed by registered nurses and nurse practitioners. Health education and promotion are major aspects of the Health Services program. Health education is provided, on an individual or group basis, for a variety of topics such as smoking cessation, nutrition, eating disorders, women's health, contraception, and alcohol and substance abuse.
Immunizations and Health Services Fee
All students taking six or more credits are required to complete a health form prior to registration. This form includes a medical and family history, a recommended physical examination, and completion of required immunizations and tuberculin screening. New York State requires college students to be fully immunized against measles, mumps, and rubella. The law applies to all students born on or after January 1, 1957. Student records are confidential and may be released only by written permission of the student. New York State law also requires that college students show proof that they have received information about the risks and prevention of meningitis and that they have either received the vaccination or opted not to be immunized.
Each student is required to pay a Health Services Fee, which covers many of the services provided on campus. Services provided off campus will be charged to the student or their individual insurance plan. A complete explanation of services covered by the health services fee is available on request.
All full-time, matriculated students are required to have accident and health insurance, and all part-time students are strongly encouraged to have insurance. An insurance plan that provides coverage for accidents, injuries or sickness is available through the College Association at Delhi, Inc. (CADI) at the time of enrollment. The charge for this policy appears on the bill for all full-time students; students covered under another policy (their own or a family policy) must complete a waiver to have this charge removed from their bill. Note: The College is not liable for expenses incurred as a result of accidents or injuries related to College programs or on College property.
Child Care Center
The Delhi Campus Child Care Center, Inc. (DC4) offers year-round childcare services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children of SUNY Delhi students, State employees, faculty, staff, and community residents. The school-age program provides after-school care and full-day care during school vacations, snow days, and holidays. Tuition is based on a sliding-fee scale according to income, with discounts for State employees and SUNY Delhi faculty and staff. Funding for income-eligible children of SUNY students is also available. DC4 has been nationally accredited since May 1995 through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which is the nation's largest and most influential organization of early-childhood educators and others dedicated to improving the quality of programs for young children.
