Mildred & Louis Resnick Library
Services for Visitors and Alumni
The library is open for use by the public, including area residents, high school students and college visitors. Students from other SUNY campuses should read about Open Access below.
Area residents may borrow Resnick Library materials as well as use our Interlibrary Loan system. To get a Resnick Library Community Borrower's Card, bring a form of picture ID, preferably a driver's license, to the library check-out desk any time the library is open. We'll set up your borrowing privileges, and you can start borrowing right away.
Community Borrowers may check out as many as 5 items at a time. Loan periods range from 7 days to 4 weeks.
Use of Facilities and Library Materials
College visitors and area residents may use Resnick Library facilities including books, magazines, online databases, and other resources on site. The College Archive collection holds many photographs, yearbooks and college publications rich in local history; all of the Archive materials must be used on site.
The library offers two online databases designed especially for alumni use both on-
and off-campus: Academic Search Alumni Edition and Business Source Alumni Edition. Alumni seeking to access these databases must request the username and password by clicking here.
Acolor photocopier/printer is available, with a cost of 20 cents per side and 35 cents per side for11x17. Additionally, we have quiet study areas available, if you would simply like a space to study, learn, or get some homework done.
Computers and Printing
There are 58 public computers available in thelibrary. Guests are welcome to use these up to 2 hours per day, though priority is given to SUNY Delhi students.A document scanner is also available where you can scan photographsand other materials. Guests and those not affiliated with the college may purchase a printing card which can be used to pay for print jobs at the print release station. Cards are available at the front desk, and come in $1 and $5 denominations. The initial cost for the card is $1 (therefore a card with $1 of printing value costs $2 and a $5 card costs $6); after the initial purchase, more money can be added to the card by visiting the CADI office in Farrell Hall during business hours.
SUNY Open Access
The premise of Open Access is that any SUNY student, faculty or staff with a valid ID from their campus may use library resources on site from any other SUNY campus. Often there are limitations, materials may be restricted or in a special collection, but in general the SUNY campus library collections are open to all members of the SUNY community. The most common restriction is use of licensed electronic resources that are paid for by a campus and restricted to only enrolled students, faculty and staff. Those are generally only available on site at the host campus. There are currently no restrictions on Open Access users for the Resnick Library; Resnick Library will register another SUNY student or faculty any time the library is open.
