Career Options

The market for architectural technology skills goes beyond the conventional architectural firm. Attractive employment opportunities can be found with construction companies, engineering firms, government agencies, large corporations, and building product manufacturers. The Bachelor and the Associate Degrees in Architecture at SUNY Delhi prepare graduates for immediate employment, or for further study in Architecture, Construction Engineering, and related fields.

Employment

Employment opportunities in this field are numerous. Advancement depends both on formal training and experience. AAS graduates typically find positions as architectural drafters, CAD operators, technicians, and junior architects in architectural firms or construction engineering firms. The BT graduate may work in the same firm in positions such as estimators, designers, project managers, and architects.

Transfer to Bachelor Degree, or, Master Degree programs:

Academically strong graduates of Delhi's Architectural Technology programs have successfully transferred to many national universities such as Cornell, Clemson, Tennessee, Kent State, Ohio State, Arizona, Roger Williams and New York Institute of Technology. The technology emphasized at Delhi compliments the theory and design emphasis at architectural schools to produce a well-rounded professional education.
