Countryside Care:  Visit the local nursing home, only one mile from campus, and bring some joy to the elderly.  Play Wii games, participate in "Chime Time" or do a service-learning project there.  Stop by the OCCE to find out more, fill out a volunteer application and arrange transportation. There is service via the Bronco Bus at certain times.

Head Start:  Help Delaware Opportunities raise money to purchase backpacks and school supplies for the preschoolers who are going into kindergarten next year. Whatever we raise will be matched by the O'Connor Foundation! This is open to individuals and organizations alike. You can do any type of fundraiser, just bring the money to the OCCE and make sure it is put in the exchange account.  Last year we helped them get a very large matching grant.  Can we do it again?  Yes we can!

DELARC:   Delaware County ARC  is participating on and off campus with service-learning for multiple classes.  Contact the OCCE for more information

Helping Japan: Almost $9,000 was sent directly to aid Japan through AmeriCares. Thanks to all who donated their time and money, and to CADI for giving us the CADI Challenge in April!

Hope for Haiti:  There is currently a terrible need for support in Haiti, and anyone looking for philanthropies would do well to continue the support SUNY Delhi gave in the spring of 2010.  We are one of 5 schools who won the TrueHero.org contest for Relief Efforts for Haiti!  Thanks to all who voted!  See our message to the children by clicking on this link, or going to TrueHero.org.   We have raised over $5,000!   Thanks to all who donated to the Comedy Shows, Talent Show, Pancake Breakfast and bought pins on "Pin Day".  The Bowl-a-thon on March 10th was lots of fun and a great way to raise funds.   We are sending all funds to Hope For Haiti, designating our efforts to a "sister" school.  Murphy Hall was the grand winner of the Residence Halls contest!  Congratulations!

Bronco Buddies:  Our own SUNY Delhi  Big Buddies engage with local South Kortright Elementary School students in an ongoing, weekly commitment that would be semester or year-long.  Contact Elizabeth in the OCCE office if you are interested in this meaningful opportunity.  We are available to shuttle students on Wednesdays.  Leave campus at 2:30, return about 5:30.

Puppies & Kittens (and Big Dogs too!) Sign up in the OCCE to take a Heart of the Catskills shelter animal to the Countryside Care nursing home.  Contact Elizabeth or K2 at the O'Connor Center  for more information
