Fall into Volunteering!FallintoVolunteeringDelhi Beautification Holiday Tree Planting:   Saturday November 21st from 10 am to 12 noon. Meet at Cannon Memorial Park (corner of Franklin and Main) and help plant evergreens in the barrels along Main Street.  Sign up at the OCCE.

Conference on Volunteerism:  Saturday November 21st at SUNY Oneonta.  Free registration, with breakfast, lunch and tee shirt provided.  We leave campus at 8:30, and the conference ends at 3:00. Sign up in the OCCE to get your spot on the bus! Presentations wanted.  Bring your ideas to Elizabeth Sova in 217 Farrell Center.  Spend the day with us!
Holiday Bazaar: Friday, December 4th is the annual Holiday Bazaar here on campus.  It will go on all day, and there are plenty of shifts at a variety of times with different jobs and responsibilities. Stop into the OCCE to sign up for the best time for you.
17th Annual Holiday Parade: Saturday December 5th Help bring Holiday Spirit to Delaware County. Line up for the parade will begin at 10am in the SUNY Delhi parking lot at 454 Main St. The parade will start at 11am and will travel down Main Street. There will be contests for best floats, most spirit, etc.

Regalia:  Student groups are wanted to sign up for next semester to help staff our gently-used clothing store here on campus, with all proceeds going to student scholarships.  Come to the OCCE to sign up for your group to commit to one day, 3 hours a week all next semester.

Woodland Cemetery: Come help us keep this beautiful historic place in the fall, raking, and transporting leaves to keep the cemetery looking beautiful.  Sign up in the OCCE office for Saturdays in November.

American Red Cross Blood Drive:  Thursday November 12,was a huge success!  Mark your calendars for the next drive in February, the 3rd and 4th of the month.  The last drive of the year will be on April 21, 2016, all in the Farrell Student and Community Center loft.
Thanks to all who helped and especially to those who donated the gift of life.  We collected 58 units, with a goal of 38. Way to go SUNY Delhi!
Bronco Buddies:  Our own SUNY Delhi Bronco Buddies  engage with local South Kortright Elementary School students in an ongoing, weekly commitment that would be semester or year-long with their CROP Program.  Contact Elizabeth in the OCCE office if you are interested in this meaningful opportunity.   If you are interested, the sooner you get in touch with us, the more likely it will be for us to get you on the bus!  This is a great program!  Leave campus at 2:30, return about 5:30, Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Maybe try organizing your own community service event. Come talk with the staff at the OCCE and plan a Community Service event!

Local Food Pantry in Delhi at the United Ministries Church behind the bank on Church Street.  Drop off donations between 1 - 3 pm on Mondays and Thursdays in the basement, Fellowship Hall.  Volunteers needed to staff the pantry.  Contact Deb at 607-746-1665  or Regina at  607-746-1670 for more information.

Head Start:  Help Delaware Opportunities raise money to purchase backpacks and school supplies for the preschoolers who are going into kindergarten next year. Whatever we raise will be matched by the O'Connor Foundation! This is open to individuals and organizations alike. You can do any type of fundraiser, just bring the money to the OCCE and make sure it is put in the exchange account.  Last year we helped them get a very large matching grant.  Can we do it again?  Yes we can!

The Arc of Delaware County: This nationally renowned organization participates on and off campus with service-learning and other co-curricular events like Holiday parties and Study Buddies.  Contact the OCCE for more information
