Upcoming Events
Woodlawn Cemetary: Come help us keep this beautiful historic place spruced up.  Sign up in the OCCE office for  May 11th from 10 am - 4 pm.

Hurricane Sandy Relief Fundraising:  Do you have a few hours to spare to help us raise more funds for fellow New Yorkers?  Come to the OCCE for help to help others.  We really appreciate it!

On-campus recycling: Every week, details in the OCCE office. You can choose community engagement hour credit or designate a charity to receive the funds from the bottles you recycle.

Habitat for Humanity:  New office in Delhi. Volunteers needed to work on committees for planning projects here in Delaware County. Contact Jill at 607-746-9987. Come to the OCCE for sign-up forms.

New Food Pantry in Delhi at the United Ministries Church behind the bank on Church Street.  Drop off donations between 1 - 3 pm on Mondays and Thursdays in the basement, Fellowship Hall.  Volunteers needed to staff the pantry.  Contact Deb at 607-746-1665 or Regina at 607-746-1670 for more information.

Flood Relief:  Any group with their own transportation can contact the office and we will help you help others!  They are still working in Margaretville, Fleischmanns, Prattsville and other villages nearby. New York Cares is a great place to go when you are in the metro area and want to help with Hurricane Sandy recovery!

Bronco Buddies:  Our own SUNY Delhi Bronco Buddies  engage with local South Kortright Elementary School students in an ongoing, weekly commitment that would be semester or year-long.  Contact Elizabeth in the OCCE office if you are interested in this meaningful opportunity.  Next semester we will be going on either a Tuesday or Thursday.  If you are interested, the sooner you get in touch with us, the more likely it will be for us to get you on the bus!  This is a great program!  Leave campus at 2:30, return about 5:30.

Regalia: Student groups are wanted to sign up for the semester to help staff our gently-used clothing store here on campus, with all proceeds going to student scholarships.  Come to the OCCE to sign up for your group to commit to one day a week all semester.

Countryside Care: has closed :(  We will keep everyone updated if the facility re-opens.

Head Start:  Help Delaware Opportunities raise money to purchase backpacks and school supplies for the preschoolers who are going into kindergarten next year. Whatever we raise will be matched by the O'Connor Foundation! This is open to individuals and organizations alike. You can do any type of fundraiser, just bring the money to the OCCE and make sure it is put in the exchange account.  Last year we helped them get a very large matching grant.  Can we do it again?  Yes we can!

DELARC:  Delaware County ARC  is participating on and off campus with service-learning for multiple classes.  Contact the OCCE for more information

Hope for Haiti:  There is currently a terrible need for support in Haiti, and anyone looking for philanthropies would do well to continue the support SUNY Delhi gave in the spring of 2010.  We are one of 5 schools who won the TrueHero.org contest for Relief Efforts for Haiti!  Thanks to all who voted!  See our message to the children by clicking on this link, or going to TrueHero.org.   We have raised over $5,000!   Thanks to all who donated to the Comedy Shows, Talent Show, Pancake Breakfast and bought pins on "Pin Day".  The Bowl-a-thon on March 10th was lots of fun and a great way to raise funds.   We are sending all funds to Hope For Haiti, designating our efforts to a "sister" school.  Murphy Hall was the grand winner of the Residence Halls contest!  Congratulations!

Puppies & Kittens (and Big Dogs too!) Sign up in the OCCE to take a Heart of the Catskills shelter animal to the Countryside Care nursing home.  Contact the O'Connor Center  for more information.
