Email Migration Details

CIS is extending training opportunities for Outlook Web Access\OWA (the campus' new email solution for faculty and staff). These sessions are for anyone that was unable to make the trainings offered during professional development, or anyone wishing to attend again. OWA training will run each morning from 9am-10am, January 25 through January 29 and 3pm-4pm every afternoon from February 1 through February 5. All sessions will be held in Bush Hall 226. Space is limited so please call the Service Center/Technology Helpdesk @4835 to reserve your seat. For anyone unable to attend a training session or for those who may want more practice, OWA self-paced training is available here .

Migration of user mailboxes from Lotus Domino (Webmail) to OWA is scheduled to begin on Tuesday January 26. In most cases users who have already attended OWA training will be migrated first. Users will be notified via email the day before they are migrated, and email will be unavailable to them for the entire day during their migration. The day after your migration, please contact the Service Center at 607-746-4835 to set your new password and gain access to your new mailbox.

As part of the email migration project we are making some authentication changes to some other campus systems. Starting immediately when logging into the campus wireless ("ResNet") faculty and staff can use their domain username and password rather than your email account information (your "domain username and password" is the first username and password you enter when you start using your computer.) Please note that the traditional method for logging into ResNet with email account information will continue work until your email account is migrated; however CIS is encouraging all faculty and staff to begin using the domain account information immediately.

If you have any questions please contact the Service Center at 4835.
