Criminal Justice
Admission Requirements
The following is required for admission into the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Program:
- A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher

Graduation from an accredited AA or AS Criminal Justice degree program (OR)
- Graduation from an accredited AA or AS degree program with either the required pathway courses or graduation from an accredited law enforcement academy (OR)
- Total of 60 college credits with either the required pathway courses or graduation
from an accredited law enforcement academy
Required pathway courses:
- English Composition - C or above
- Introduction to Criminal Justice - C or above
One of the following:
- Introduction to Psychology - C or above
- Introduction to Sociology - C or above
- Statistics - C or above
Two of the following:
- Introduction to Corrections - C or above
- Criminology - C or above
- Policing - C or above
- Introduction to Law - C or above
Graduation from an accredited law enforcement academy will satisfy lower division pathway coursework.
Upper division course credit may be granted based upon experience and advanced academy work by way of completion of a portfolio. A student portfolio will provide justification for the achievement of course-related outcomes through documented professional experience (work experience or academy). Specific eligible courses will be determined by faculty once in the program.
